Good Marine Sub?
I wish my dad would let me haha. He just wants to cut a hole and call it done. Searching > me

Dumb question about strapping
Why not just get one big amp? What subs are you planning on getting, or what power do you need?

Dumb question about strapping
If it's a d1, he can wire to 2 ohms to the pair, so each see's 1 ohm? Yeah I noticed that after I read it again, fixed. Just woke up from a nap reading > me. It happens, I know you probably know a good deal more than I do. That's why the ? was there lol. I doubt it on the knowing more but that is why were all here to catch each other slipping. How are your build logs coming along, havent seen an update in a minute? To the OP yeah it will also depend on your amps as well if they can be strapped like said earlier so make sure you have amps that can be strapped unless this was a general question. Just waiting for some funds to get two more amps, some more 1/0 and batteries. I can't wait to get it started, definitely gonna be a fun build...The two 10"s are in my gf's car and doing well, just want to find some better subs to throw in.

Dumb question about strapping
If it's a d1, he can wire to 2 ohms to the pair, so each see's 1 ohm? First you have to check of your amps can be strapped if they can you will want to know what is the lowest impedance the amp can go to....EX: 1 ohm per amp SO if you have 2 amps and each can handle 1 ohm your final load will need to be 2 ohms, each amp seeing 1ohm. Now as for wiring you will connect the ( - ) of both amps together and the take the ( + ) from one amp to your speaker and the ( + ) from the other amp to the remaining lead This is pretty much what I was gonna say when I found out what amps you had. Wire the negatives of each amp together. Then your "master" amp would be your positive, and the "slave" your negative amp. Meaning that the positive on the master amp would be your positive output, and the positive on the slave amp would be your negative output.

Dumb question about strapping
Yes, each amp will see a 1 ohm load. And no, you don't wire it to the first amp, there's a lil more than just rca's...May I ask what amps you are strapping. Not all amps can be strapped.

Good Marine Sub?
My dad is looking for a good sub for the boat. It will be in a cutout in the inner hull in the cabin area, so it will need to perform well in IB. I'm not too sure of the amount of moisture it will be exposed to, and I'm not sure if any of the actual marine subs will perform in IB. Any suggestions?

death penalty??
I remember hearing the Neon when you had the DP's at one of the Seffner shows. I tried getting my gf to do a hair trick there, but she refused lol.

end correction
It's only half the width, and only inside the box I believe.
-
end correction
In a ported enclosure, the active port extents half the width of the port past where the port wall stops in the enclosure.

Tuning to 32hz, 37hz, 40hz or higher
Tune to 32 and call it a day. My last box was just a lil under 32 and it did good on Jeezy, to All That Remains, to Slipknot, to Tech N9ne.

IA Downfall Shirt
How do these tend to fit, say relative to a Hanes shirt? I've had mediums from company X fit too big, and larges from company Y fit too small, so I figured I'd ask. I should have a lil extra cash in a couple weeks, so I figured I'd pick one up.

2 21 in IA dp's box help
Dumb ? You said 240 inchs. Is that the squar inchs of the port opening? This is my first box build with out aeros so I'm not really sure? Any help would be great. Yes, it's the port opening in square inches. I had mine in 20 cubes with 300" of port tuned to 32Hz and was pretty happy with it...What car is it going in and how much power will you have them on?

Galacticmonkey's Avalanche Build
I love my Stinger wire. It's like a wet noodle...Are you still looking for a new amp, or have you gotten one?

Is Kinetik going out of business?
I read something about this a long whle back, sometime last year. I can't remember where it was, but I thought it was dismissed as not true.

Port question
There is a good chance that you will get a lot of port noise and turbulance with that opening ratio.

Alt To Back Bank
I saw a discussion about this a long while ago on some audio site and can't find it again. I just wanted to know if there are any substancial advantages to running power wire directly from the alt to the back battery bank. For example: I have 4 runs of 1/0 running from front to back, 2+ and 2-. Right now, both + are running back from the + on my front battery. Would it be advantagous to run one run back from the + on the front battery, and the other from the + on the alt to the back battery bank? Advantages, disadvantages, not matter? My electrical will consist of 2+ and 2- runs of 1/0 from front to back, big 3 in 1/0, one 290 amd DC alt (2 in the future), g34 YellowTop up front (soon to be a Deka 9a31), and 4 Deka 9a31's in back (soon to be 6-8). All in an 03 Expedition XLT. Will be powering either 4 SAZ-3000d's (each at 1 ohm and gained down) or one Soundigital 12kd or 16kd (at 1 ohm gained down quite a bit).

This Do you have the electrical to power the amps properly?
