  1. Haha, yeah that would be a site to see, a see through wall (kinda like an invisible wall, I wonder who on this forum will be brave enough to attempt this even though it will be a hefty penny to cough over). The more I think about it, it would look sick with my 4 DP21"s in a 4th order at the B-pillars.
  2. This would be convienent in a wall type build. You can have your wall, and your rearview too lol.
  3. Maybe an IB setup in the rear deck. Then there's no worry about removing the sub and box, it'll always be out of the way. EDIT: ^^ I guess I should read the entire thread before posting.
  4. Corse thread drywall screws work well. And if youre doubling up everywhere, you can stagger the two layers so there is more surface area for the glue to bond. The sides will fit together like stair cases. And about the liquid nails, only use it to seal the inside of the enclosure, not as actual wood glue (I just use silicone caulk on the inside of mine). I would recommend Titebond II or III for glue.
  5. Whoa lol. Looks interesting.
  6. rmzsuzuki89 I meet all terms and conditions. 03 Ford Expedition. New build in progress. 4 DP21"s, 2 SAZ-3000d's, JL C5 components (for now), Damplifier Pro on roof and back hatch, and part of one door lol (I ran out lol). Will be posting build logs on 5-6 audio forums. (***, SSA, CA, ROE, FLSPL, ****) I race motocross (on a Suzuki RMZ-450 and RMZ-250) and gp (on a Yamaha R6). And I'm starting to get into drifting and road racing (in a BMW E36).
  7. All looks pretty good. The only think I would change would be making a 45 at the bend on the inner wall of the port. That way It would be an even width all the way through the port.
  8. If it's only one sub, then no, it doesn't matter. If there are two subs, and only one is inverted, then yes, you will need to switch the polarities. If there are more than one with one inverted and one not, and the polarities aren't switched, you will get cancellation...Basically when the subs are on they're up stroke, one will excurt out of the box, and the other will into the box.
  9. Haha ya, I've seen how an under braced port wall behaves at low freqs. lol.
  10. Ya, I was planning on "sandwiching" the wood inside and out. But I'm glad you gave me the idea of doing it all the way across.
  11. Ya man, don't do it. Either go with a sub capable of handling more power, or do two subs on that power.
  12. Alright, thats what I was thinking.
  13. That looks good to me. ...I can't wait to get started on it. Most likely at the begining of next depending on that kind of class work I have. And as for the bracing, I'm definately going to do something similiar to that. 2X4's on the top and bottom, connected all thread, and such...With the pieces of metal connetcing the all threads, would I glue them to the box then tighten the thread bar down on them, with a screw or two in the middle, or...?
  14. O ok I see. I just didn't know if a sideways clam was possible or not.....This design intrigues me though, I've never seen anything quite like it.
  15. The extra 8" of width couldn't be used for anything?...Ok, I'll start getting stuff together for it soon, probably this week, or late next week.
  16. I like the thought of that lol.
  17. That is what I plan on doing when I'm out of college and have a job...O well, full coverage warranty FTW!
  18. Yep, 48" wide all the way back. And thanks a ton for doing this. ...Normally I desing all of my boxes. But since my computer crashed and is gone, along with everything I had on it, I can't do much. If my parents would let me use their computer for more than just school that would be great too lol...Sorry for the rant, just annoyed about my computer lol.
  19. It can be 33" deep on the first part, then the 5" rise, then 27" deep, then another rise that is about 3 1/4", then 13" deep from that. The floor is like stairs lol.
  20. I'll run out there and get some exact measurments in a couple minutes. And for the origional post, the Wardens will come in the future but it's just the DP21"s for now in the Expedition. But I'll get those measurements now..........I wish my damn computer didn't crash so I could have posted my designs to see what everyone would think of them.
  21. Really...Damn, and we sent it out to HP on waranty like an hour ago. lol
  22. Sorry this thread has been dead for a while. My computer crashed and I am just now gettng axcess to another computer. Mine should be fixed in like 2 weeks. But that design looks interesting. I'm still debating about everything, but it's definately gonna be fun.
  23. Alright man...I'm playing with sketch up right now and will probably post a couple ideas up. Thanks for all the help man, I greatly appreciate it.
  24. I was planning on a piece every 12"-15" with a piece of aluminum or steel bar connecting them all on the wall of the box. Maybe five each way in each section, in the layout of the #5 on a dice.
