  1. Yeah, I'm doing one 18 first then sometime next year ill upgrade to the new amp and the second 18. I'm going to use the amp I have right now to power the 18, which is a planet Audio BB 1250.1 amp. I know it's the power that 18 needs, but I'll run with it until summer of 2014. I have the budget for this setup, but it'll take a year to complete. That's the best way I'll be able to get all this stuff. Other members here recommended the crescendo 3500 for two xcons.
  2. I know this is a naive question, but what's the advantage of the 18 over the 15? I know for one the 18 emits more air space, which is more bass output to the ear. Lower notes and more thump. Are those the primary reasons? *excuse the rookie*
  3. Also, the goal would be to have a sub that hits the Low notes, high output, while maintaining sound quality. From what I've gathered, the xcon is a mixture of both.

  5. It will be one of either sub, in a Yukon (a good size box. Maybe 6 cu ft or 7 cu ft). Amp power of planet audio 1200 watts. i will then upgrade to a crescendo 3500 watt amp. Let's go with a ported enclosure.
  6. Want to get some opinions. Will you get a 15" or 18" sub? Let's go with the Xcon. And, why you would choose one over the other?
  7. Yeah good decision on not mixing them. Just get a 15 or an 18 and port it, I'm sure that you'll be happy with that. I know this is a dumb question, but I have to hear it from someone else. Will one 15 ported get me louder than two ported w6's?
  8. I would port the W6's, however, I forgot to mention that one is going out already (wear and tear). I was initially thinking of just replacing that one with an 12" Xcon, but mixing two different subs may not sound that well, so I just decided to start a new system.
  9. Thanks everyone for the advice. I will go ahead with two 15's Xcons rather than just one 18". I will also choose them at Dual 1-ohm. Looks like SSA doesn't have dual 15" ported box for sale, and you must request that they make you one. If I do have someone build one it will be tuned to 32 hz. I want to hit the low notes, so if anyone has any feedback or suggestions as to what hz rating I should go with, please feel free to recommend.
  10. @ Tyrfryr- I don't think I got your question
  11. Hey guys, Hopefully ya'll can give me some help here. I have two 12" JL Audio W6v2 in a sealed box powered by a Big Bang Planet Audio D-CLass 1250.1 x 1 amp. Subs sound good but been having them since 2005 and want to upgrade to something bigger and with more output. I have not heard the Xcons and those are the subs I intend to get. I am looking into one 18" or two 15's. They will be powered by the same amp named above, and I will be looking into getting either sub(s) into a Khaotik Ported enclosure. I would have this setup in a 2007 Yukon. Question: Will I be better, in terms of output, getting just ONE 18, or TWO 15's? 2nd Question: Do I go with dual 1ohm or Dual 2 ohm? I would appreciate any help!
  12. Appreciate everyone's feedback. Looks more like w6 might outperform the Q. I was also thinking of the BL. I am thinking that the 12"w6 has no chance on the 12" BL.
  13. Maybe someone could give me some useful advice. I have two 12w6v2s in a sealed box powered by Planet Audio class D 1250 wtt amp dropped in a dodge stratus sedan. I want to upgrade to Fi 12" Q. My question is, does the FI Q pound harder than the w6v2? I know the w6v2 has a slighter higher spl db than the Q, but the Q can handle up to 1000 RMS as oppose to the 12w6v2, which can take up to 400 RMS. I am planning on keeping th same sealed enclosure I have right now. But I just want to make sure the Q will hit a lot harder than the w6v2 before I take this step. The w6 gets loud, but I'm just looking for something LOUDER. Anyone who has heard both subs, I would appreciate your advice.
