You should be fine, I'd either upgrade the front batter or add a second smaller battery in back. When it comes to fruition monitor your voltage and go from there.

You can get your wood cut at Home Depot but i suggest you double,tripe,quadruple check the measurements they can be off by 1-2 inches.
yep not much weight on the top, i'll double it if need be. has a 1/2 all thread down the middle, can't currently put the all thread in because it's a wee bit long.

I felt electricity a few times when helping dad weld some stuff. I was holding 2 tubes together, one was grounded, the other was not and when the arc formed I felt electricity going from one of my hands, through my chest and out the other hand. Kind of fun I made a taser out of a disposable camera.. that sucked. Your supposed to charge the cap then tell someone "catch!". Well... yeah I tazed my friend.. he wasn't too happy about that. I bet haha. It's so awesome looking at my kitch table and seeing 6 12's lol
