And yet another alt.......
Mine shipped with Bamaboy's but took a little longer to make the trip to Denver. 250 amps of pure fury....freakin more power than I got going in my house Its cold and raining today......perfect for doing this little project As soon as I finish my I will drag my tired butt outside and git-r-done, with pics of course . I worked 90 hours last week so bear with me, I may fall out at any point, but today is mine to do whatever the hell I feel like, and working on my truck sounds like a winner to me

Sub suggestions
^^^^^^^^ Some little troll we keep tied up under a bridge and everytime we bring him a goat he produces another great sub Actually, while I never met the man, his customer service and product line speaks volumes for him.

What a pair
I think I am swaying towards the Lotus, but I want to know what you think of your Extremis. It had to be kids that hit his truck, they were only interested in the HU I guess.

What a pair
A box of hand tools worth about $2500, power and air tools worth at least another $2000, and a small box with his Fluke DMM, digital inclinometer, digital camera, and a LUX meter for reading the intensity of surgical lights. That box was worth probably another $1200. This is what we were doing:

What a pair
Looky what I got today. I didn't get any pics of the HU yet.......they made me put it in at the shop I picked it up from because they haven't seen this deck installed before. I was down in Albuquerque last week and a coworker came in from Phoenix to help out. His truck got broke into, they left $5000 (no lie) worth of tools behind and took a $150 HU. He had rode to work with me from the hotel that day and fell in love with my old HU and bought it for what I paid for it. I promptly took the money he gave me to the local Eclipse dealer and ordered up this guy. I still had my Sirius portable, so I hooked it up to the front channel amps and had tunes till i got this today. Straight out of the box, no adjustments.......my Focals have NEVER sounded soooo good. I am about half way thru the manual so as I drive back to Denver tomorrow, I will tweak to my hearts content. I got it to let me go active on my front stage. I have some Rainbow Pro components (4" and tweet), and now have to make a decision on what to use for my mid bass drivers (Seas Lotus or Adire Extremis) and git-r-dun. Will get some pics of it in the truck tomorrow and post them.

sealed doorpods
I will be doing some glassing in my truck soon. If I get mine done in a decent amount of time, I will be making a trip to Ark the following weekend. I can help you with yours <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You may as well make 2 sets while your doing yours, my truck is the same as yours . I got massive 70+ hour weeks coming for the next couple months and no time to play with my doors.

What size alt?
on Nate being easy to deal with. I ordered one on Friday that should be here this week. I got mine powdercoated just for a couple extra points if I show it. I also want to thank you for turning me on to the Rainbows at Arc. I got the last set of Pro's (4" and tweet) he was out of 6"'s and had one set of 5.25's CSC line. They will be getting installed in the real near future.

Tent sale works pretty good, they were closing up the shop can pull you out of a tight spot. Golden Rule = dropping that last zero

need help choosing front stage...
I ran Quarts for more than a decade. I ran the tweeters 3dB down while they were in pods in the doors and when I relocated the tweeters up to the A-pillars, I had to go to 6dB down with them reflecting off the glass. I deadened the doors and it made a huge difference in the midbass. I did dual 5.25s in each door for about 8 years with more than adequate midbass. I jumped to the Q series when they came out and with a 3/4" baffle and deadened panels they sounded great, even down to close to 60hz.

Money to burn and a passion for good amps = po'd spouse

rl-p infinite baffle works good
I like hearing the SS sounds good IB, show it's versitility. Makes me want to play around with a aperiodic design. Keep the reviews flowing when you box it up.

Component Situation
I wouldn't go that far.... I am still very undecided on the 6" midbasses, and torn between old school (adcom), high end (sinfoni or audison), or holding out for Zed's 6 channel coming out this fall to solve the front stage dilema. There are waaaaay tooo many choices for my little noggin.

Component Situation
They are sittin in my garage Picked them up a few weeks back from a distributer that was dropping the line. The only thing he had in the pro series was the 4" component set, so I took them (at a great price) to try out. I am getting everything together to install at once. Monday I pick up my new Eclipse 8455, bought the sirius box for it today. Thursday should bring my new alternator to boost the electrical system a little (250 amps), just down to figuring out which midbasses to use and getting a very high SQ 4 or 6 channel amp for the front stage. Will be posting a lot of pics when I redo the truck.

Component Situation
I ran Quarts for years, switched to Focal a few months ago, but after a lot of reading decided to try out Rainbows, just gotta get some midbasses and drop it all in. The Avatar is strange, it is one of the many types of fish I raise, my other expensive habit

Lookin' good. Is it killin ya to hear those extremis? It's killin me to get a review

Component Situation
I just got a set of the pro 4" Rainbows to run with a dedicated midbass, but for 5 years I ran 2 5.25's (MB Quarts) in each door of my Nissan truck and the midbass was excellent. I have yet to hear how my new Rainbows sound , but will keep ya posted though . From what I have read and heard on these boards, you won't be disappointed with them. They should sound pretty good in the Q-Forms.

My RL-p box sucked, now it's in a better home with
That would probably be your amp clipping when it is trying to take big bites, connecting where it is, is it not getting enough amperage. That is what I am facing in my truck coming from the battery, so I am upgrading my alt , batt, and wiring, and switching from class d to class ab and take even bigger bites and going from there.

how big? I was told either 1.5 or 2.0 at 34 hz. I still wanna retain a certain amount of sound quality for the rock i listen to, but i want mostly to maximize SPL out of this sub. ALso, who on this forum makes good affordable ported boxes? I was told on another board that someone here makes nice boxes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have heard great things about the 2.0 tuned to the low 30's, high 20's. I had Mrray build my box, excellent job, reasonable price, easy to work with. There are others on here that do great work, depends on where you are located to keep shipping down.
