i was told today that DLS stuff really went downhill the last few years. way back when, they had the support of Morel makin thier speaks, and genesis makin the amps. when DLS decided to cut costs a little, they went to china and showed them chinos the design of thier stuff, and the chinese copied it. When Morel and Genesis heard what was goin on, them 2 companies cut thier production for DLS. so like 02-03 on, DLS's equipment isnt really as good quality. Is this true?

hey... i was wondering... if you paint an amp, will it hinder the cooling process of the heatsink? i wanna paint a Profile CA400 black to match the dual EU box.

i can vouch for the RLP D2... amazing yo. also that IS 2100 and CL62 combo would be very nice indeed

ookay i was givin this some thought.... if mike is able to special order a blank cone to sign for me, should i have 1 rlp, 2 cubes ported to 32hz w/800w goin into it, or have a dual RLp 1-1.2kw/piece at 1cube sealed (prolly with some pollyfill) im gonna use the same box no matter what: IMO the dual RL-ps would look way hotter, but would there be THAT much acoustical difference? mike said they would be similar, what do you think? the dual setup also gives me an excuse to run an AX2000

hmmm letsee...got lotsa stuff today. first i recieved a couple of JLw6v2's. Picked them up from Gansan (daniel) in korea town today. i got lost on the way home from LA for about an hour and a half....ended up in compton lol, so i was on the road for about 2 hours with these babies. Of course you gotta start subs out with rap. the output was OK for a couple of 12"'s, but after all i was only giving them 350-400w each, and they are sealed. For other types of music, Funk, Rock, Pop, All i havta say is daang these are THE greatest sounding subs i have heard, yes even moreso than the VQ. in opeths - windowpane, it felt like someone was actually kicking me in the back lol... it was a great experience. They kept up with the double kick/quick beats more than any sub i have ever heard, and the musicality (is that a word?) in Since you been gone by kelly clarkson (yes that song has an awesome bassline) was right on. i think these things look better inverted, thats just me tho. next up, we have a pair of JL 8W0's from DB fan. these are goin into my bros future car ported to i think 32, wanna say thanks to supa c for the box 45 bucks for the pair, you cant beat that! next i have a busted usamps USA-200 from way back in 1995, picked this up from a dude from icix for 22 bucks. hopefully i can get this thing fixed to run those w0's. man... they shoulda kept the old heatsinks... they very nice. thats all for now! more to come!!!

yea.... its true, lol compared to other systems i dont have midbass. with the horns, i will be able to make my kicks smaller, have more midbass as well as have the ease of installation with the Horns (i have a big dash) a simple 7 band is fine! i just need one with a crossover.

if i had a little black box id put the devil in... id take him out and SMASH HIS FACE! and put him right back in my dad wants a little bump in his burban... im givin him a little bump Supa C and i made this box yesterday... as you can see, its a labrynth port designed by that accelerator pedal box designer: E is for... Elias!: after we finished building it, we hooked the eu700 up to it. it sounded like crap, port noise up the wazoo. i wont trust accelerator pedal any more for ported enclosure designs. luckily the port width was .75" so we stuck a slab of MDF in there to seal it up. originally designed for a single eu700, once we clogged the port up, there was enough airspace for 2. When i got home i cut out another hole and stuck an eD sticker where the port was. i Barely had enough length for 2 me mucho el lucky. may need some more coats of paint for the power, im gonna run a profile CA600. yea...thats all for now.

You do not need one per speaker. They are mono EQ's, so you need one per side (i.e. one for the left side, one for the right side), but you do not need one per speaker. ID has a nice xover that will work with them aswell.....but they are fairly pricey for all three pieces (two EQ's and one xover). That DQX will work.....but from reading the manual it doesn't look extremely flexible, as it appears you can not overlap or underlap crossover frequencies. Or you could buy a headunit with all of the processing you'd need....such as the Eclipse 8053 (can be had for under $300 shipped if you look in the right places), Pioneer Premier 860MP, etc etc How much are you looking to spend on processing? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> as little as possible the cheapest there is... like i said im new to this sort of thing so i dont know the prices and stuff. I'm not looking for Absolute perfect SQ, just enough to get me by with a DD. So i guess something better than the 3 band in my HU. i would prefer to have a built in crossover with the EQ so i dont have more wires being run, and i would also like to keep my current HU.

i was looking at the Image dynamics 31 Band EQ, and i found out that you needed one per speaker. That Audiocontrol looks very very nice...i assume it will handle the mids horns and my sub right? are there any other reccomendations for the eq/crossover?
