Depends on what you consider an econobox... if you concider a Civic one, then by all means... But, a Neon is one of the most popular FWD low budget weekend race vehicles out there, was when it was released and continues today. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Down here it's a honda. Everyone who is a "racer" has a honda. Honda = Teh Suck. Oh, and the neon layed the path for the car which every dusche bag must own at some point in their life.

IMO the Yaris looks much better than the xB and xA. Better than most econoboxes out there. At least in pictures. I'm not 100% intent on buying one yet. Just thinking about it.

And how is a Neon not an econobox? It was the 4cyl FWD sedan which preceded the extreme econobox era. not dissing, just asking.

I dont buy cars to pick up girls. But I completely support using your car to pick up girls. It weeds out the sluts/whores/gold diggers for the rest of us that dont need a nice car to pick up a girl. I'm not implying you do, but you are implying that that is the reason not to get a car.

Same engine as my dad's chit box (aka xB) which has held up great so far (32mpg with my dads foot, kinda quick, and still running strong after putting 26,000 miles on it in one year)

Close but not cigar. It works in.... It doesnt even work in theory. If you where going to do that the chamber volume of hte enlcosure would have to be as small as possible (what a true horn chamber is, very small). The box would also have to extend end to end of the cargo area and you would have to do some serious measurments/calculations for it to work even halfway correctly. On top of that, unless you have a damn Suburban the size of the "horn" would not be large enough to extend down to 20Hz in Horn Theory/Rule of thumb.

Be careful when welding galvanized steel. You can get really sick if you dont weld in a place with good ventelation (throwing up and extreme nausia). Drinking a glass of whole milk before welding galvanized steel is sapposed to help with the nausia.
