12" Fi Q
Yes.. It would be slightly underpowered, but it will still sound good.

Full tilt?
I think he was asking what the phase does.

sub decision
Agreed! Sundown is taking preorders for their new 3500D. The BTL's would still be underpowered, but way more power than the ZX2500. This would probably be the best bang for your buck, not sure if you're willing to wait for the 3500D to come out though.

I LOVE my highs......
Yeah, the CLs are just fine. Its certainly not their high end stuff, but I've heard good things about even those. I have some extra CL-62s I never used, I'm sending to a friend soon. We'll see how she likes em. Let me know how the active setup turns out. I thought about doing an active setup on my front stage CDTs with a SAX-100.4

12" Fi Q just arrived...
Ok Rob, see, for that, it looks like you take 1 piece of wire, which is positive and negative, and run them to themselves on the sub, then another piece of wire from sub to enclosure. Is that right? So then in each of the coil, one positive one negative, theres another piece of wire. I would need 2 wires correct? Just want to be clear, installing this tomorrow.

12" Fi Q just arrived...
I just got my 12" Fi Q. This is my first quality subwoofer, hooray! Just a quick question. On both sides of voice coil, there are + and - springs, total of 4. This is dual 2 ohm, wiring down to 1 ohm load. It is my understanding to do this, you run positive wire to positive, from one coil to the other, then negative to negative. But then, what? How does it hook up to the enclosure. Do I run the wire in parallel from one side of sub to other, then run a wire from one side into the enclosure? I looked for diagrams, but none were clear exactly how I run the wire from sub to enclosure. Thanks in advance.

I LOVE my highs......
What model CDTs have you heard? Had always heard really good things about them, so I bought them when I saw the sale and I really like them. Granted, I wouldn't pay what they retail for, they aren't that good.

I LOVE my highs......
I want it to sounds decent as well. lol No one seems to really be offering actual speakers. I have a pair of 6.5" CDT ES-620. I love them. They produce good clean sound, and can get nice and loud. Woofersetc.com has a liquidation sale going on right now. My speakers are retail $839.99, and I managed to get em for $279 (though the site lists $349). I would recommend the ES-620Z for $399. The crossover setup has their Upstage technology. Had I not gotten such a good deal on the ES-620 set, I would have opted for the ES-620Z. I just run stock rear fills, I don't really care about rear fills. 12" Fi Q goes in this Thursday, I don't think I'll have any need for them. Just my two cents.

Need New Comps.
What kind of car? What can it fit (size of speakers), can it do components? Are you using all 4 channels of the Sundown, you can go with an active setup if using just 2 channels?

Front Stage Amp
Yup. TMA T320.4, and the sub, TMA T12S4P (12" Single Voice Coil). Along with 8awg wiring, no need for that anymore.

If it's from dB-r you will in good shape. They are the authorized Sundown repair center. Good deal... he's fairly local too.

How do you guys feel about refurb products? I found a SAX-100.4D for $325. Yes, he's authorized.

Front Stage Amp
Jake started off with the 100.2, and that was so underrated that he changed the name to the 125.2. So you're saying I will get true power out of it, 125W x 2? Yes you are correct. OK, thanks. It seems that the consensus is for the SAX-100.4. This is a little over budget, but I will definitely consider it. Does any one at all recommend the SAX-125.2?

Front Stage Amp
I was looking at the SAX-125.2 SAX-125.2 at SSA Shop I saw the SAX-100.4 but I had a couple problems with it. 1) It only does 100W @ 4ohm. 2) Bridged, it does 320W x 2 @4ohm. There is just no need for this much power for my speakers. It's also $150 more expensive than the SAX-125.2, and for what I'm using it for, I figure the SAX-125.2 will be more than enough power. I understand these Sundowns are usually under rated, so I'm thinking I could get 135-140W out of each channel. Does anyone have experience with the SAX-125.2? And thanks for the suggestions, I appreciate the feedback.

Front Stage Amp
I'm wondering what most people use for a good quality front stage. The amp I'm currently using is a TMA T320.4 (JL company). It does the following: 60W x 4 @ 4 ohm 80W x 4 @ 2 ohm 160W x 2 @ 4ohm (bridged) Speakers used in conjunction with: 6.5" CDT Audio ES-620, rated for 150W @ 4ohm I just picked up a SAZ-1000D and a 12" Fi Q and these will be running together. This leaves the TMA to run my front stage solely. I'm worried about bridging the amp because its a pretty cheap amp, and I figure it'll be toast within a year or so if I bridge (if that). Also, the power isn't terribly clean as its a cheap brand amp, though the quality is good (I'm running 60W x 4 out of just 2 channels, non-bridged). So the question is, for 150W each channel, what kind of amp would you suggest? I'll be running 4awg wiring through a distribution into both amps.

fi phone number (urgent!)
I second that! Call up UPS and ask what happened, and if it was really delivered. I would think Fi would require UPS to get a signature instead of just dropping it off. I just ordered a 12" Fi Q, hopefully they make someone sign for it.

What amp for 12" Fi Q?
Are you saying I should go for bigger wire for the big 3? As a rule of thumb, I've always been told to match power and grounding, and since I'm not going bigger than 4awg for the power, I shouldn't go bigger than that for the grounding right?

What amp for 12" Fi Q?
Thanks goodguy, but already doing the big 3. I've been planning on doing that.

What amp for 12" Fi Q?
No idea. It's stock. 2006 Nissan Altima 2.5S. Looked around online for a sec but couldn't find an exact rating. Is that going to matter with just 1500W max?

What amp for 12" Fi Q?
Decided on the wiring setup for whatever amp I choose. This should get me the results I'm looking for. The large amount of cable (yes I know it's a lot), is going to be to run the the mono amp, and also do the big 3 upgrade in my engine. There's also a few extra ring terminals, just in case I mess up. This is my first build by the way. Any requests for a build log (don't worry mods, I'll put it in the right place)?

What amp for 12" Fi Q?
Here is a quote from the owner of AudioQue about the 5% rating: Here is another quote from a different owner: Source As far as performance for the money, I still recommend the AudioQue. Thanks for the additional info goodguy. I am still undecided on the amp, but giving some consideration to the AudioQue. Trying to find more information about it, but folks on this forum seem pretty set on the Sundown Audio equipment. Also, the SAZ-1000D is currently $355 shipped, just $100 more than the AudioQue. Still doing research though, I will update on what I end up deciding on.

BP Power for Q's!
Bought my 12" Fi Q last night with free BP option. Thanks Fi!

What amp for 12" Fi Q?
Thanks Bromo. I read that DLS recommends at least 2awg wiring for the Ultimate A6 amp. Also, I asked DLS America what it would cost for one of these, and its looking like $625 + shipping (ouch). I would definitely want to buy from an authorized dealer, closest one to me is 500 miles so I would definitely be buying online. I've heard great things, but at that price, I think I can find something comparable that's a lot cheaper. The SAZ-1000D is right up my alley I think, but with the new suggestions of either this or the SAE-1200D, not sure which to get.
