I've never done it but I know a few who have and they say it's not really hard to do, you just have to be careful and watch what you're doing. Good luck on it man and take pics if you can!

Is this considered a wall or half wall? I'm trying to understand the classes and rules for DB Drag and Bass Race. Plus I've read that if the system is over 140db you must be outside the vehicle.... I lost my remote for the H/U so is this an issue? Would it be wise to wire up a long harness to control volume & playback during the comp? This being my first comp, I'm really confused about the rules. Can anyone answer any of these questions? I would appreciate it very much if some of the veterans could point my in the right directions.. Please help!!!

O.K. Here's the scoop. GLUE When the adapter harness was made, the plastic socket/plug had to be glued to hold the wires securely in the harness. Well.........Glue leaked down two of the three pins inside the harness. Completely glazing the whole both pins. Here's how I found it out: Turn the ignition on but DO NOT start the engine. Test the Yellow wire on the end of the plug and put the black probe/clamp on a good ground. This should now read the same as at the battery. (Problem ~ I had no reading at all) Next, repeat the process with the Green wire. This should also read the same as the battery but may be a couple tenths lower. (Problem ~ I had nothing here as well) When I did this test on the stock plug/harness, I had good readings..... Inspected the harness and notices the glue on the pins. Removed the glue with a small machining file. (tiny, fine tooth file) After all that, It's alive!!!! 14.2 volts all the way to the rear.... When the Icons are hurling it only loses .2 volts when it really digs deep. No video yet, I need to do a bit of cleaning up and inspecting everything to make sure there are no cracks in the hood from the pressure. But I do have some new pics.... New inline fuse bracket, 10Ga. 316L Stainless Steel. New battery top bracket, same material as above. The foam on the top is being replaced by black Armaflex foam. Me putting the alt in the first time...8 hours at work the came home for 4 hours on the install. Day two. Put the alt back in after cleaning the plug. Finally got some help the past couple days from my bud James. He's putting the new bracket on the battery and checking cables. Amp rack with fan on the T1500-1bd. Plus install process pics...... Dropping in the Icon D1 15's I'll get a video up real soon I promise y'all !!!! This set up is way more intense than the last I had !!!

Well I spoke to the guy at Mechman.... I have a little list of things to check. Pulley that comes on it is recommended to stay..( No switching) Double check resting voltage of secondary battery.... Then DMM the Green and Yellow wire on the adapter that plugs into the alt to see if it's getting power. (to make sure the alt is turning on & the batteries aren't the only thing running engine) Double check ground cabling...(I did but I'll do it again for sh**'s and giggles) If all else fails, it'll have to make a trip back to them to see what's up with it. He re assured me that all of them get tested to at least put out advertised amperage before they get shipped. That being said, If I can't find out what's up then I guess UPS beat the snot out of it during shipping....... Any two ways about it, I feel like slamming my head in the hood!!! LOL (not really, I'm just tired of having alternator issues when the stock one works like a dream, just not enough amps.) Let's go probing with a meter!!!!! Yeah!!!!! ~~~~~~

Voltage issues!!! Stock alt puts out 14.3 volts at idle. New Mechman only puts out 12.1 and makes engine run rough......WTF??????

Man, I was really thinking hard about it to tell you the truth. I'm curious to see exactly how much it actually flexes before I take on the foam monster. LOL (Me and foam don't get along)

Bolt terminals.
You're in Michigan, it'd only take a couple days if they were ordered. The place is in Springboro, Ohio. But if you can't wait, it a pinch you could try stainless bolts with a hole drilled through one end.

I just got done wrestling a giant hunk of MDF!!! LOL I managed it solo......not easy.... Here's some pics! Just enough space for the gasket to seal tight on the cap. Still space for any other bracing if needed. (but not too much space..LOL) The back wall slope matches the slope of the windshield also. Now it's the amp rack that I need to glue up, run a few wires, and install the new alternator. Then it's test time!!!

Sorry for not having any new pics..... About an hour into working, I bashed the top of my head on a shelf in my shed. I gave myself a nice little gash that as all head woulds do, bled like crazy. No stitches for this one though it isn't very deep...(according to the ole' lady) I felt like such a total idiot! I need a stupid helmet, I always hit my head on stuff. LOL Today is a total washout... Raining buckets here so, I'm going to sand the port and get it ready for the finish coat of paint. And yes, I plan on attending both days of the show. I'll get my new windshield installed next week so there's no doubt the seal will be set up and solid by Slamology!
