  1. That's a huge box for a 12" zcon, and you have a lot of power. You could probably fit a 15" zcon in that box ! Time for a recone in a bigger size ?
  2. What can you find locally ? Anything can be shipped to you, these days !
  3. EV31-105A-AM Battery Specifications: Chemistry: Sealed Lead Acid Voltage: 12v Nominal Capacity: 114Ah Dimensions in Inches (L x W x H): 13.3 x 6.7 x 8.5 Terminals: Automotive AM Weight (lbs): 74.1 Warranty: 12 months Condition: Brand New Notes: Group 31, 750CCA
  4. Yes it is. It's a Group 31 battery. One of the cheapest I could find. They use it a lot, locally, for the boats. The Optimas were so expensive, I did not want to get one. There were no XS available at the time I was ready to buy a battery. Now I can find a few, but they are so expensive, it's not an option for me. So far, I have no problem with this one. ;-) ;-) I just questioned it because it looked like it had plugs you could pull out to check the acid level. I checked again ! No vents I can take off to check any level ! They are dry cell batteries...I don't know much about them. Vision EV31 is the name. Chinese batts. They have a website but I don't know how to really compare batteries.
  5. You had your answer : a Fi recone will be better than a PSI recone. A lot of people are going to read that thread, not only you. Stop crying like...a teenager ! Be thanksfull for the answer you got and forget it. You don't really know what you are doing if you managed to blow a Fi sp4 on a "2400 watts" amp. Box was too big you said ? 5.5 cu ft or 7 ? All those members want to help you to keep your sub in good conditions. They don't want you to blow it again.

  7. This battery won't go nowhere. It's so tightly set in this piece of wood. Next step : a wood box well secured to the floor. Still had some wood and some carpet left, so... Box won't move !
  8. Nice and Impressive, so far !
  9. Do you really need a little more room back there ? You won't have a lot more with a sealed box. Take that room for a serious ported box. This sub deserves it. You can have port firing back or up. Keep the same depth and the same height, but a wider box ! Good luck !
  10. Small box means less output, usually, don't you think ? Try it sealed, it will be cheaper first. If you don't like it, then you'll try something else.
  11. I always sell them, with or without the sub !
  12. There are some sub forums here, on SSA, about deadening materials. I'm still studying what to buy for my doors ;-) My budget is not ready.
  13. That's what I would do ! It should work for the power you will use.
  14. I like my IA 20.1. I can't say if it puts out rated power, close to rated power, or more or less !!! But it has a small footprint, it's a reputable brand, and I have no problem with it so far. I bought it on sale. You can't be disappointed with it. SQ seems to be loved in this car audio market. Good reputation. Buy what you like and what you can afford. There is no need to break the bank for an amplifier !
  15. Thanks ! I love them too, hopefully :-)
  16. Don't write in black, pleeaase ! I can' watch the video, youtube is blocked on my pc. I'll take a look later.
  17. You don't want to use the Z no more ? Your car is too nice to put a box in the back seat like that. :-)
  18. I use the biggest I could find in my local car audio shop at this time. I was sad I could not find 8 Ga wire. I think I have 12 Ga, I hope so ! Maybe it's small, or too small, but it's already louder than ever I don't think I need to go bigger. If someone gives me enough free wire, I may try to use it !
  19. So far I only use the features on the head unit, and set the LPF to 80 Hz. I don't use the ones on the IA 20.1 Do you think it can be a better choice to use the amplifier settings ? I think I'll get only one mini-dsp. I did not want no processor at first, but now I know it can be a very good thing to my system. but I don't want to use 2 different equipments when only one can do it for me !
  20. Thanks Aaron ! Your sub is insane ! It makes people talk a lot ! Maybe they'll want some SSA products in the near future I'm starting to worry for my car : I can feel how the car reacts on every bass frequency, but I only have little trunk ratling. I'll fix those rattles when I have time.
  21. Fits like a glove ! I want to buy a processor, now. Audison bit one and JBL ms-8 are too expensive for me, I think I will get a mini-dsp. I have one concern about the mini-dsp : I don't know yet how to control the subwoofer with it. I understand how it works on a 2 way speakers set, but I guess I need a second mini-dsp for the subwoofer. Am I right or not ?
  22. Why didn't you take the backseat out and lay the box on the floor ? Nobody can sit in the back. You could fire the subs through the cabin, from the trunk. How do you like it now ?
  23. My installer is telling me to buy the processor. He showed me how his Alpine 701 works. Wow, the results are amazing. Now he's working on Time Alignement (not sure about the spelling) : I can't believe how it can change the sound in the car ! It's incredible. I need to work pn that too. I hope everything will be ok before the end of the year.
