  1. Take it easy guys ! Bigjon : I love the animated "the end" you posted ! Who is this 323guy ? He seems to be new around here but acts like he's....I stop it !
  2. I will order one for a VW golf soon. Eric@Mechman is very helpful so far ! (I'm a new customer !!) I did not try to contact DC or anyone else. I thought about Mike Singer, but just asked Mechman. I will tell you how it goes and if the alt fits right in the car ! It's not for my car; I'd love to run one too !
  3. "Sub displacement = .24... but I will be triple baffled so what maybe .22 or less??" What did you want to say ? Sub displacement and the number of baffle are 2 different things ! You have 2 subs ? Total subs displacement is .48 ft3. When looking for net volume, just take the internal dimensions of your box, no matter how many baffles you use !
  4. The pic with the t top opened is ...gorgeous !!! I love it. I've posted it in my facebook. Nice score. Congratulations ! You're getting closer to your goal. I'm happy for you. BTW I did not notice how huge was the port ! You can fit someone in there easily !!!
  5. You're in good hands, OP ! Keep your type x speakers, and build a good ported box for your sub. The Alpine pdx are not bad at all. You can keep the one you have and use it in your system : 1 sub channel for the sub, and the others bridged in 2 channels for your front speakers. If you feel that you need more power for the sub, you will upgrade later. But use it first. You may love it like that. I think 0 ga wire would be better , for any future upgrade and for the big3. Just my 02cts ! Good luck with your system !
  6. I like that, but you're talking about good quality products. A beginer could go with cheaper equipments too.
  7. He wants 2 subs, an amp, a box, wiring for everything...for $250 ? Good luck !!! Unless he buys used, I can't see that happens easily. Classifieds, Craiglists,...etc See what you can find. Look for a single sub, it will be cheaper than 2 !
  8. Nice score on low power. I must show that to my friend with their +4,000 w systems !!! congrats. I just hope it sounds good for you. (the most important).
  9. Louder with a lower tuning for those btl's? If you want efficiency I don't think you should lower the net volume. I went from 2.1ft3 @ 32hz to 2.5ft3 @ 34hz and It is really louder to the ear. I still have the lows ! But I changed the port. It was firing to the side and now it is firing up like the sub. Good luck
  10. Notorious97200 replied to lib's topic in General Fi
SubSam : Wow ! Nice setup. I want the same, Santa. I'm asking early !!!!! BTW I want no sauce, no ketchup, but a little mayo !
  11. no special links. Just read the more you can in the different sub-forums : amplifiers, electrical, ...etc Learn more about car audio and come back with questions if something is too hard to understand. But you're really starting too big.
  12. 18" in trunk ? Very difficult. Get the 15". Ooh, and what car is it ? Look for enclosure designs on the Fi forum. They are free and well done.
  13. You're sure about that ? With such a little system I thought it would be possible. Maybe not for hours of play, but it can be done on some cars. not on mine though ! OP : you can be good, and safe with a smaller amp for those little monsters ! IMO
  14. You're new to this and you want to run 1 or 2 BTL ? That's a lot for a firstimer ! I think that is too much. If you have the room, you can do 2 subs in 12" for example. What do you plan for front speakers ? It's very important. It's where most of the music is coming from. read some more on the forum.
  15. I've just sent you an e mail at [email protected] with all the info.
  16. I forgot to say I have custom tax to pay too !!! Car audio is expensive ! :-( when you're not in the 48 !
  17. Just imagine : + $210 to ship a btl n2, a much lighter sub, to my country !!! And you don't want to pay that little 100?!!! Don't look at it like that. Just look at the final and total cost. You'll know if it's worth buying.
  18. That is a lot of work ! congrats. good point for the hidden system ! A car like that don't need thousands of watts and several subs in, just some good sounding speakers and a sub.
  19. Looks clean. Have you tried to fire the subs & port forward, and sealed the box from the trunk ? This prefab box does not look too bad. Do you know what is it tuned to ?
  20. You're telling the OP to buy Boss ?! WTF ? No Boss audio in my car ! Never !!!
  21. Those h u are great. I loved mine, but I did not want to add any "little box" to play with usb, iphone,... I was not running it active, so I sold it for a cheaper one (9300 sd). I love it too !!! Less settings but nice !
  22. I was thinking : "not a very big improvment" but I read that the first one was already a HO alt. So it's normal. You have near 5000 w rms and you don't have too much voltage drops. Congrats !
  23. Wow ! that was a big event ! Maybe one day I'll make the trip?!!!
  24. Try to find a BTL N2 or an older one. On 1500 w, you'll love it. Shizzon gave you a good list to check !
