Welcome to the IHoP
something with an arse ton of midbass lol I don't know diddly about these drivers, but they were on sale so I decided wth, merry christmas to myself. So they put out decent midbass eh? My experience with them so far has been in 1 cuft sealed kicks ( not enough airspace for them ) and IB in the doors ( winner winner chicken dinner ) The low end really comes alive when they have room to breath

kryptonitewhite's project in progress
Huh ? if the cracking was caused by body twist. How in the world do the windows manage not to shatter everytime you take a turn ?

wtf was up with that? basically the same as removing the glass and welding in steel in its place...the cheapass ghetto version Yeah right , I got money that says that 3/4" mdf flexes on the first low note played loudly. Then followed shortly by the crumbling of bondo like a dried out cookie

You are correct . Pressure will make that MDF panel move and crack the filler like dried mud. Little late now , but next go round for large areas like that, I would used short or long hair reinforced filler. Much, Much stronger

Welcome to the IHoP
Well now that one depends on the type of wood . There are some that I prefer to use gorilla glue on , but I'm not usually building any kind of speaker enclosures with those kinds of wood

So... what's up ya rotten phukkas?

Welcome to the IHoP
Is there a main reason why iuts worse than titebond? And whats up Kent? People being their usual arseho selves? J Wood glue used to glue wood to wood creates a joint stronger than the wood itself. Liquid nails has it's uses , just not to bond mdf to mdf.

Can't be today , the co-workers I want to pummel are 1000 miles away . Don't think I could reach them

Welcome to the IHoP
what'd they do now? I send an email outlining problems that I have identified. Clearly stating what the problem is, what facility ( we have 4 ) that the problem is coming from. Instead of reading through the email , they send me a response back asking which facility, what's the problem....blah blah. I'm just having a bad day

Welcome to the IHoP
There should be one day a year, when it is legal to pummel retarded co workers

my SQ boxx
No you don't need another amp. Think one driver, one amplifier channel. So two tweeters + two midranges = 4 channels. you can use a 4 channel and a sub amp . 2 of the channels for tweets , 2 of the channels for mids and obviously a seperate amp for the subs.

i did read it and need a Lawer to deciffer it... ill try but Alpine Tech support if gone by the time i get off work edit: i just contacted AP Ts and he said on the bottom of the unit is a switch S/R/SUB - front - rear - w/sub 3way - front Tweeter - rear Mids - w/sub what do you suggest ? So it's just like the older alpines . 3 way mode will allow you to use the crossovers and the time alignment built into it . Just remember running actively means you need a seperate amp channel for each driver

Welcome to the IHoP
You have to love his spirit. Yeah , at least he is trying . I know a basshead who used to compete in SPL , that now spends every weekend building sq cars

Welcome to the IHoP
Baccus baccus baccus , trying to learn I guess .

my SQ boxx
SQ just like SPL is full of myths as well . Just like the one you suggested. Mids and tweets don't always have to be together. I have about 4 feet between my mids and tweets . Close your eyes and get in my car. I bet you pink slips you can't tell what is where without looking. You can get a pretty good idea of what kicks would sound like in your vehicle by wiring up a couple drivers in the kick area. Then laying them on some towels to cover the backs ( keep the front and back wave seperated ) then play with the aiming. I would love to be able to tell you where to start, it's just not that simple.

my SQ boxx
Sq is similar to spl in a few ways. Every vehicle is different , what works in one may not work so well in another in terms of both sq and spl. Even supposed identical vehicles. With SPL, hard core guys will build multiple ( I haven't competed in 5 years and still have 15-20 spl enclosures from my truck ) enclosures to test with until they find the right recipe. SQ guys will sit in there cars for days on end listening to different aiming positions for different drivers until they find their recipe.
