  1. Ok will do! I'd love to have devastating lows!! But not every day lol. Would be a good side project So everything else is fine?
  2. Its gonna be daily, and 38Hz was a suggestion from DJ over at Audioque. Really I'd like to be a little more SQ biased than SPL right now. Ahhhh thanks Bromo, i forgot to add in driver displacement How long should the port be then?
  3. I used the SSA enclosure tool and just want to check and see if everything seems right This is going in a 99 civic sedan, SDC2.5 12". I have all this calculated for a net vol. of 2cuft and a gross of 2.65.....will that be good? Any recommendations for a better box for this sub? Outside dimensions: width=30 depth=15.5 height=14.5 For the port, tuned to 38Hz: width=2.5 height=13 L shaped so... L1=12.25 L2=1.5 and the enclosure tool says total port length is 18.25...is it calculating straight down the center? Area=32.5 displacement=602.875 in^3 or ~.35 cuft I'm really not too sure about the port.....also if i were to use winISD, what sub should i use for calculations or does it matter?
  4. I think they're all just jealous
  5. I agree with you rushnrun.....just not sure how to fit two twelves in my trunk lol. I disassembled the box and am going to build a single ported box till i can figure it out or get a different car. Definitely will post a thread to see what you guys think about the single......I'm reall anxious to see what these can do Thanks for all the support! Its really encouraging, especially the tips and criticism!
  6. Not a bad idea actually. I might use them....haha i'm about as familiar with them as i am with slot ports lol
  7. here's a link to all that....be sure to at least read the last half of the thread. I believe i changed dimensions http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=26746 and here is my build thread....it shows the steps i talked about and the finished box http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=26820 edit: oh and what is the xmax of an AQ SDC2.5? Is it on the website and im just missing it?
  8. Ok so finished product! Didn't bother puttin carpet on it cause its got WAAAAAYYY too much port noise to keep.....and the subs sound horrible in it. Haha oh well....learn from experience
  9. Ok will do that! yeah right now i have pretty bad port noise
  10. Whats the difference between 12" and 16" in^2 per cuft?
  11. Thats what the specs say it will do....
  12. yep, but i don't quite get the formula. Just for kicks, lets say i want it tuned to 38hz and the box net to be 2cuft.....but how do i know how long to make the port, or what area i need to get the 38hz tuning?
  13. Gotta say, those are some of, if not THE sexiest and cleanest looking subs i have ever seen. I would kill to hear those!
  14. I looked at a couple of websites but am still confused as to how to tune the port to the frequency you want. And how does the length, width, height of the port affect the tuning?
  15. J/w why he hasn't responded.........
  16. Get XCONS!!!! Do it or ban kthnxbai
  17. Jsut a question....why a 300 RMS amp for the subs? what are the RMS ratings for your subs?
  18. Sweet thanks! haha and thanks for the sites I was just sitting here thinking about my setup, and had that random thought lol
  19. Say you have 2 4ohm DVC subs that you want to wire to a 4 ohm load on a mono amp. Could you wire each sub so the voice coils are in parallel, so each sub is wired to 2 ohms, and then treat them as single voice coil subs and run them in series to get a 4 ohm load on the amp? Don't think its hard question, just one i don't know the answer to. And this is definitely a place to learn
  20. Ok used a different amp and they worked.....didn't change anything, so i guess its my amp
  21. ok so I dunno why its blowing fuses in the amp now...and not last night. But it still doesnt work. I hook up the ground wires and then the power wire to the amp. Then touch the engine bay fuse to the holder and it sparks. The engine bay fuse is fine, hasn't blown. And i live in ABQ, NM if anyone feels like coming to take a look, just PM me. I guess i'll call up AudioQ tomorrow and ask them about it.
  22. AGH!!! SOB thats what i didn't do...man i know to do that too....thanks for the help, i'll go see if that was it.
  23. I checked my battery, nothing is touching + and - I checked the amp, the power wire and ground fit nice and snug with no loose strands The amp worked last night......all i did was unhook wires, move it to the trunk and hook the wires back up....I'm at a loss The only thing i can think of is its somehow shorted in the amp, but i didn't shake, tip, etc. since last night...i don't think the power wire is cut since i turned the car on and the fuse in the engine bay is fine. I have an AQ1200D and two SDC2.5 subs by the way.
  24. Yeah they're hooked to the only "out" on the HU and the only "in" on the amp
  25. Thanks for the fast replies!! I'm goin to bed and will take another look, hook up a different amp, etc and get back to you guys so check back in! Greatly appreciate your help so far
