Thats an interesting thing. I was going to cut the hole and seal them to the hole in the door when I bolt them to the door, but I have been reading about Aperiodic enclosures and may want to give that a try. Here Anyone have any experience with that?

It does not need to break in, guy does not know what he is talking about. Your gain could need to be turned up since he said he needed to adjust it. I am guessing from your question you do not know how to set it so I wont go there. I say be patient and ask the man to go ahead and make the "adjustment".

None of your choices would be my choice.

Just look at the manufacturer recommended enclosure. That should tell you everything you need to know. One wants to be tuned low and the other wants to be in a fart box.
