well my car is now satisfying all the time, from a standing start i can set volume to a nice sexy pleasing level-on anything! and start journey, sound is fantastic all the way up to about 60mph where road noise etc dictates a slight tweak of the volume, but other than that i can set volume and have no loss of sq between 0 and 60! my home audio is equally as pleasing? so what do i do now? ? ?
  8. you going from a 15 to a 12? or to a 15? either way i dont see double the volume, twice the power only gives a smallin crease in output and twice the cone area the same? so doubleing your output is unlikely! autority in the lower freqs however with an rl-p, you will get
  9. "the RL-p is a ported box driver " is it? why would someone desighn a sq sub for a ported box?
  10. http://www.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?t=109413 not that i ever go there?
  11. i defy anyone to rip 8 good screws out that easily! maybe if you were under 10?
  12. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well what did you expect?
  13. I CUT PASTE THIS FROM ANOTHER FORUM, is1pimp is the reviewer? look like he got what he wanted? Amp is a Nine.1 and the box is a 1.0 cubic ft sealed enclosure. I had the RL-P in it for about a week, and the XXX just got put in today, and here are my findings. These two subwoofers are completely not in the same league as eachother, maybe in SQ they are, but thats about it. The guy that wrote the other writeup comparing the RL-P to the XXX and saying the RL-P almost got as loud, and was the better choice has to be completely insane (no offense to whoever wrote that review ). Or the only explanation is he used 750 watt, and i am using 1200 watts, so i guess before 750 watts, the RL-P is pretty even with the XXX in low power levels. All i did was switch the RL-P with the XXX, did nothing else whatsover, same box, same amp everything. The first thing i noticed was the XXX has phenomal sound quality, probably about even with the RL-P, maybe the RL-P has a slight slight edge on sound quality but not by much. Comparing the two SPL wise is just not even fair. The RL-P hit nice and solid, but the XXX hits like a freakin animal. It rumbles my entire car from bottom to top, and if you have the windows up with the bass hitting a steady frequency range, it literally blows your hair around. Its absolutely insane, the RL-P does hit hard, but not even close to how hard the XXX hits. I would say the XXX literally hits twice as hard as the RL-P. This is not meant to bash the RL-P at all, its a great driver, and it is about 200 dollars cheaper than the XXX, all i am saying is that other review wasn't very accurate in my opinion, the XXX completely destroys the RL-P like a little girl output wise, and the drop in sound quality is barely even noticeable.
  14. Well, that..and I'm buying the vehicle without the system, since I have all my own stuff..and after nine years, my friend is kinda attached to his ole equipment... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> what kind of music do you listen too mostly and how loud do you want it?
  15. if it sounds good with the jl / alpine combo id say why change it? you could end up spending time and money and it not sound as good? IF IT WORKS-DONT FIX IT!
  16. cut a hole in your back seats, fire sub straight into cab!
  17. get ya saw out!
  18. look at the rl-p infinite baffle thread! about 6 post down from this
  19. and going deaf is NO JOKE! why dontcha spend your money makeing your ride as quiet as possible (soundproofing etc material) and enjoy massive sq @ lower volumes for the rest of your life?
  20. subs dont move much in ported boxes close to tuneing freq?...... odd but true!-do some reading...ask those who knows!
  21. what they said^ plus make it sealed....no stinking ports! but you could try just 1 sub in all the space you can get?(maybe the rl-p 12) if you can squeeze it in? i like single sub set ups, if your careful with your gains you will be fine with the rli ifyoucan get the rl-p in there you could use your gains with impunity!.
  22. aw come on guys- you cant put a guy down for having a sense of humur?
  23. build the box big and then you can add stuff to it to make it smaller if you want to change the way it performs?
