  1. naw i havent tried any other speakers. thanks for the number rodney ill give them a call tomorrow. hell i already started looking for 2 ohm amps putting out 1500 watts lol
  2. you think its worth it to get repaired? or go ahead and get a sundown
  3. i got bored and decided to see if it was the amp so i wired the subwoofer up to my 4 channel amp and it played sound like it was nothing. so what do yall think could be wrong with the alpine amp. the light comes on but thats all it does. the last time i used this amp was march 2009 when i blew the type x.
  4. i guess ill go up to a shop and have them test another amp on it. just sucks for this to happen i was expecting to just plug and play.
  5. Alright guys i finally got my FI Dual 1 ohm 12 Bl today and went to installing the sub. As I turned on my deck i received sound from the speakers but no sound came from the subwoofer. 1. I checked the amp (Alpine MRP-1000) Amp light turns on. 2. I checked the rCA'S even switched the RCA'S between both amps no sound from the subwoofer. 3. I checked the deck and switched the subwoofer rca's from subwoofer input and rear space input. still no sound 4. I checked to see if the amp was getting enough power and it was at 12.5 volts at rest 5.i turned on the subwoofer option on and off on the deck and still no sound. 6. I turned th e gain up on the subwoofer from minimum to max and still no sound 7. I checked the fuses on the amp I dont know what else to do or check for. I know it cant be the sub cause its brand new. The only other information i can give is before i had this subwoofer i blew a alpine type x cause i didnt have the gain set correctly. Whenever i went to look there was only smoke coming from the box. Any Ideas whats wrong?
  6. Hell my first "professional" install the guy didnt have enough 4 gauge ground wire for both of my amps so he wired them both with 8 gauge and the soldered some 4 gauge wire to both of them then wrapped it around in electrical tape and grounded the wire. Instead of running brand new wires to mt brand new speakers he only ran wires to the tweeters and crossover. he used the stock wire for the speakers and ran the brand new wire from the amp to the deck wiring harness to bypass running brand new wire through the whole car. he didnt feel like running the subwoofer rca's so i could control the sub with the deck so he just connected those rca's to the speaker amp bass output. The only good thing i can say he did was solder my deck wiring harness. Thats what i get for paying $260 for a full install
  7. i say this never happened... unless of course u have pics...

  10. LOL! Anyways when its fully loaded it will be able to handle more wattage anywhere from 2500 watts to 3000 watts. It would have been way easier for you to just read the websites Speaker tech page then make a new thread
  11. i hate mine. they dont get tight, threads stripped super easily, and dont fit all the way down the terminal. just seem poorly built, other than its a solid chuck of metal haha i would go with the autozone ones if i could do it again. save some money damn how hard are yall tightening the threads on the battery terminals? I havent stripped the threads or anything like that. Battery terminals have never moved or slide up and down
  12. alright, thank you and I WANT THIS SYSTEM! I know how you feel im getting my 12 BL today this afternoon
  13. I have Type-X refs or pros?
  14. i found that out with their distribution block. waste of $23.99
  15. WHAT HE SAID
  16. i say buy the 12 dollar ones. i never had a problem with them. plus if you wanna have three runs of 0 gauge on each one just use ring terminals to attach them.
  17. your best bet is craigslist unless you find somebody on the forums that can do it. cause the only shops i know around SA are custom sounds
  18. 10 gauge should be enough.
  19. Well depends on how many watts your running to those 2 12's bl and 1 15 BTL.
  20. definantly do the big 3 man. Just yesterday i measure what voltage i was at on and off 12.7 off 14.2 on at full tilt
  21. just got my box today. Sub is coming monday so I'll be ready
  22. I dont know man. I tried getting the proper voltage from the speaker wire terminals and i still cant get a reading. But whenever I put the dmm on the power and ground wire i get a voltage automatically. Also funny thing I tried today. at first i had the eq on flat and bass and treble at zero with the gain knob turned up 1/4. Music sounded good but i like to hear my highs alot in my music. So I turned down the gain to the minimum and turned my treble all the way up and my music still plays pretty loud without distortion at around 52 and 53(Pioneer deck).
