  1. The box is 34x15x21 (lxhxd) and the port is 3.25x13.5x18 just plugged it into re box creator and it says 4.34 ft^3 tuned to 30.57. So it will be a littler higher after the .2 from woofer displacement
  2. Well when i first played them i was listening to lost by gorilla zoe and in audacity it says that song peaks at 32 and 34hz, and that song is so loud on the subs. Listening to some test tones, they peak around 40 hz so that would suggest the box is tuned around the low 30's. As far as cancellation, would that cause the subs to not move? Im going to try to borrow a friends camera to record it, but the subs hardly move, thats why i dont think its all cancellation. Also if it was 100% cancellation the peak and the trough would have to hit my ears at the same exact time, and a 30 hz wave is 24 feet long so i would have to be 12 feet away from my subs and i am about 5-6 feet away, also wouldn't i hear the subs as being louder a different distances then, depending on where i am in relation to my car?
  3. i could run sweeps using my computer through the aux port with winISD, or i just downloaded some test tones, i think shizzon put them up. I dont have a tl though so i would just have to do it by sight i guess. Any other ideas?
  4. i have pics of everything in that thread. I know there is a little cancellation because of how my port is aimed, but it should not be that extreme ( just wanted to take some of the load off of the trunk lid) I have the subs at least 4 inches away from the port. i heard that you want them to be at least a ports with from the port. They are in a 08 cobalt with stock electrical. I only get a little dimming at night when im at a light. As long as my rpm's are over 1000 there is no dimming. I tried turning my subsonic down and it still didnt work. its confusing the hell out of me
  5. i tried that. i had the gain almost all the way up and i started to get a little worried. i didnt want to blow them, but they took all the power with no problem, but the problem still precised. It is confusing the hell out of me. Hopefully upgrading from stock headunit this month will make a difference. It could just be the stock one crapping out
  6. port is 13.5 inches high 3.25 inches wide and 18 inches deep
  7. in my post i mention i have everything set. LPF is set to 80hz subsonic is set around 25HZ. Checked the song to see where it peaks in audacity and it peaks around 34hz and 39hz
  8. I have 2 12" 187's from incriminator audio in a custom built 4.4 ft^3 box tuned to 31hz powered by a sundown saz-1000D and on some songs the bass just is not there on the low end. The song in question is hypnotize by jeezy. I never really noticed the problem until my friend played the song on his infinity's in a prefabed box and it sounded so much better. Ok the problem is when the song begins there is not a lot of bass. I can feel it a bit but it is not too audible, and when the higher frequency note hits it is so loud. But that is really the only note i can hear well. My subs barely move during the parts in question. the part i have a problem with is from :27 to :40, and it continues throughout the whole song. I thought it could be my subsonic was too high, but i turned it all the way down to 10hz so that is not the problem. I have the bass set the 0 on headunit and the gain properly set, but the sound just isnt there. This also happens on late night tip, but i just though my subs weren't powerful enough for those lows. I know its long, but i appreciate the help edit: kinda looks like these subs in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iYlJElrtgs&feature=related
  9. yeah they are really nice, and quite heavy for a 300 watt woofer. You can just tell by the construction that they can take more power. Im really glad i stumbled onto this company. Great products for a great price keep it up guys
  10. Thats the same setup i got going right now. They really love the power from that amp :] awesome, any pics ,vids, ? i failed!!! i followed your post, all three pages, just didn't look to see who commented. lol..... how is the setup doing, breaking in and getting louder? It has gotten a lot louder!!!! I just cant wait to get some sound deadener because i cant really hear if the subs are distorting or not because of all the rattles so i keep it toned down just a bit. I dont have a vid camera. I tried one with my phone but the sound is all screwed up. Ill have to try with my parents digital camera one day
  11. Thats the same setup i got going right now. They really love the power from that amp :]
  12. You know, you never did answer what part of Ohio you are from, lol. yeah i did i said im up by cleveland
  13. yeah just set the gains right. I have 2 12 inch 187 off a sundown saz-1000d and it runs just fine. They really love the power
  14. Cant expect to build the best box ever on the first try
  15. you just lose a little port volume, so it will be like tuned just a little higer... like .5hz or something so no big deal. At least i think so
  16. mine was like that too. i lost a little width in the port, but i put some wood in the port so it would be the right width when i screwed the side to the top
  17. looks nice. got that build pretty quick too...mine took like 4 weeks
  18. sure thing pal ... haha that would be awesome... we can always dream cant we
  19. damn dude. Cant wait till those break in!!!! Going to see some impressive numbers with that. So... after you finish that car want to work on mine
  20. yeah its a physics thing. Conservation of energy. The sound energy is being converted into mechanical energy aka vibrating panels. If you can prevent those panels from vibrating all of the energy stays in the form of sound waves, therefore you get more spl
  21. man you would really hate my car right now ;] I really need to get some sound deadener
  22. nice. finally get a bigger amp for the sub?
  23. I bought a saz-1000d and two 12" IA 187's. I bought the sundown and it came in 3 days so it had to be shipped as soon as the payment was received, the only thing is the amp has 3 x 30 amp fuses and the website says 3 x 25 amp fuse, so i wasnt really expecting that. i have to watch how much power i am drawing because they dont make larger alts for my car. I bought the 187's not to long ago and they arrived at my house in a week and a half... one week for build time so i couldnt be happier with the speed of service. A really great site and will probably order another sundown amp soon for comps
  24. They sound really good. They get nice and low and play some of the higher bass as well. It tappers off in the 70 to 80 hz range a bit. A lot of output from these subs. I cant even turn them up all the way because they hurt my hears. Im going to say 125 + db. My hair feels like it starts to vibrate. The only bad thing is they make my car rattle so much (my rear deck really hates me now) All in all i couldnt be happier with my new subs. They are even more than i expected. Really good product from IA
  25. i think i would go up firing. I think it will sound a lot better without all the rattling... you can always get some sound deadener though and put it all over the hatch
