12" FI Q vs. 12" FI BL (Daily Use) vs 2 12" Alpine type

I'd also recommend the bl for you. Options do this: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7154 What amp do you plan on powering the sub with? How much power you have will dictate if you want the options or not.

Wanna go active on a budget

Always have liked metal tweets, but maybe that's just because I have never really been exposed to any of the better silk ones. And I'll get some pics of the usa's when I get a chance.

I took some measurements the other day and I believe i can make 4" deep fit, didn't realize i forgot to post that. As far as the tweets I doubt size will be much of an issue there.

My current hu is a pioneer deh-5900ib with the blown pico and alt whine... never hot swapped and its properly grounded but it still happened, guess I could fix it... Never worked around a circuit like that, but hey might as well start sometime.. And i have thought about an external x-over before and yes that is an option, but it would be nice to be able to control everything from the hu, and i guess burr-browns would be a plus too, as my current hu doesn't... And to M5, um overall smoothness could be slightly sacrificed for a little more sharpness and detail on the high cymbal's I guess. Sadly I can"t really tell you any tweets that I've heard and really liked, If i go to a car audio place to demo around here I'll be greeted with poor service, small selection with the highest end stuff consisting of low-mid range polk. ...mounting locations, and don't kill me now lol..... mids in stock location(well of course cut out and baffle made to fit) And tweets I would also like to keep in the door somewhere, maybe right next to the mids.... I keep my seat on the floor and the stock location is actually decently high up, however I am willing to play around with the tweets location and aiming and will consider placing them elsewhere if it is a big enough difference to me.... I am willing to fudge my budget a bit if i really really need to.

Going for a two way set-up. I think I can make 8s fit, but it will be a pain in the ass in my little car, if its even necessary haha. But i do want strong midbass, and as for tweets I've always liked them ever so slightly to the aggressive side. I listen to a wide range of metal, from softer stuff to death metal like nile and suffocation. Also I like prog-rock as well as a bit of mainstream stuff too. A bit of rap gets played, but that's mostly when the girl starts playing with the stereo, and she completely unbends my sub and blasts it while shes at it, so something that could take a little bit of abuse would be nice, though obviously nothing is indestructible.... she's not a complete retard with the volume but still...... My current Hu can't do active so I'll need suggestions for that as well as speakers. As for power I have 100x2 and 75x2 via old school us acoustics when they were made by zed, usa series chrome Yes yes I know install is 95% of it, but I would like something with a decent off axis response as well, not only are kick pods out of my budget, but there's no room next to the clutch pedal to put one anyways. .........I'd like to keep it under 600 bucks if that's possible, hell under 500 would be better, but I know I gotta spend a bit since I'll be buying a Hu too, and I'm braced for that.... sort of lol............ Or would I just be better off going with a set of passive comps? Oh, and this is going in a little 2 door svt ford focus hatchback.
