  1. also, does resining the inside help alot? im going to do it anyways, just curious. does it do anything else besides seel any leaks? do you use mat, or just resin the wood?
  2. Why not stack 2x4's down the entire length of the back, they seem pretty haphazardly placed where they are in the photos... If it was me I'd be worried about internal crosspieces affecting airflow, Allthread seems like the better idea. i may do the allthread. to be completely honest with you, it doesnt need to be completely stacked with 2x4s. the spaces in between you cant feel when you knock on the inside, it feels as the whole board is 3" thick. we did the same thing on my explorer wall before we took it out, and each panel was 100% sturdy. ANeon: to each his own.
  3. i just got a ticket for the windshield tint last week first tint ticket in almost 4 years man....and ive had my windshields tinted on all my cars since i turned 16.
  4. front will be double. the back is VERY sturdy with those 2x4s + 3/4" birch. its literally like 3 layers or 3/4, and hella cheaper. i cant fit the 2x4s on the sides like that tho, so ill have to figure out a way to brace that, either all thread, or internal 45 degree 2x4s
  5. added bracing cant do 2x4s on the sides tho, no room or the box wont fit in the car. i think im gonna do either all thread, or 2x4s internally, angled (45's) not sure yet. the victim gotta rep flspl
  6. my mids/highs will be in this little enclosure at the top. the satisfaction of doing it yourself is great. its coming out pretty good IMO. im happy
  7. Denim said it was ok for me to make a new thread. i really like how the box is turning out. keep in mind im not done at all, so dont think its just gonna be like this. its getting braced up real good, and the inside is getting resined. the pics you've been waiting for... the cuts (just back, bottom, and sides) quick mock-up tite bond is the ****
  8. alright thats all i needed to know its becuase no one makes a HO alt for the mini...
  9. anyone know if its legit, does it do what it says?
  10. i dont, notice im still doing the wall?
  11. alrightyyyyyyyy yall know everything about everything!
  12. you know all you internet faggots know how to do is talk chit becuase its online, half the chit you say online id like to see you say it to someones face in real life at a show, and see what happens. get a life bro
  13. robin (iamamp3pimp) took his first wall out, put the back seats back in and everything, and you cant tell there was ever a wall in it...
  14. anyways flame if you must, seems like yall like doing so, but ill update this thread either way. got the 2 kicker kx1200.1's today i painted the grilles and kicker emblems black, completely. pics make it look bad, especially with the flash...the flash makes it look like primer, but its just flat black...looks good in real life IMO. it will go with my exterior "all black" theme (my rims should be done powder coating soon) horrible flash
  15. you must have not understood me. theres people that can build a box using certain dimensions, not all of us know how to design ports/tuning/etc
  16. isnt that why alot of forums have box designers on there, that will design someone a box, since they dont know how? its alot easier to assemble a box, then design. not all are knowledgable in that field bro and a single 10 wouldnt be more than enough for me, enough is different to each person.
  17. personal opinion, to each his own.
  18. bottom, back, and sides today cant do anything else yet til i make the pod for my mids/highs
  19. mine got loud as hell @ 1 ohm, and i had no problems. it needs a good electrical for sure though.
  20. ok well just wait til its built, end of conversation. if someone can help me with the angles in sketchup, id appreciate it.
  21. yes its hard to explain, but it will touch or be VERY close to the stock trim panels, but im not gluing/screwing to the stock trim, since whenever i decide to take it out, or sell the car, or whatever it may be, i want to be able to return it to stock. similar to how meade is doing on chickens escalde, i dont think his "beaty panels" on the wall to cover up the gap are glued/screwed to the stock trim.
  22. i know you guys dont like me or this idea but can someone help me thats knowledgable in Google Sketchup? again, i know no one will agree with where my mids/tweets are, but i like it, thats all that should matter. ok i need to make a 22.5 degree angle off of a vertical piece of 3/4" birch...its going to be like this (side view): i already sat in my car and figured how much i wanted teh mids angled down, and 45 degree was too slatned, so half of that looked better, so 22.5
  23. plus, i wanna be the first walled mini. i dont think there is another mini with a wall, let alone an 18. and if there is, im still gonna do it. weight isnt really that much more than if i had went thru with a normal box and the 12" mt. i still would have the mt motor, the same batt, the same 4 amps, just a little less Birch. but, with the wall, im taking the back seats out, which is 36lbs, so that makes up for SOME of the extra wood. all in all, its not going to be THAT much more weight either way....and the wall will be a chit ton louder and not kill my back hatch, which is already loose from the bass rattling the chit out of it....this way, i still have my trunk, and since owning the car, ive had a person in the back maybe 4 times...its too hard and small to have ppl back there.
  24. how do you know it wont work well? do you own a Mini?
  25. btw, im buying 2 of those 1200.1s, a 300.2, and an 800.2
