  1. not too hard. theres not much stretch to it, but what i covered wasn't that hard.
  2. i ordered 4 12" Eminence delta mids...tested on my receiver in the house....LOUD...on no power....they're gonna see 400+w EACH in the hhr... few weeks ill order the 8 8's as well, those will see around 200-225w each. heres a sneak peak. 1x 12 and 2x 8's per front door, and 1x 12 and 2x 8's behind each front seat. 12 mids in total, and about 3400w rms total. 8 bullet tweeters as well (2 per door and 2 behind each seat) with about 125w rms each tweeter. should get loud this is the 12. its huge. and loud. ima be deaf, thats for sure!
  3. what would the power be for each mid (1700 x1 @ 2 ohm) with 2 8ohm and 4 16ohm mids? just curious.
  4. I actually am running 2 amps so im going to separate them. Just thought of that lol
  5. One last question to confirm. What if i ran this instead: 2x 8ohm 12s and 4x 16ohm 8s. That'll still make 2ohm. How much power would each mid see then?
  6. of course. you know how we roll
  7. makes sense! thanks! amp is going to be a crescendo 2ch amp. i ordered 16 ohm 12's today, im going to have to send them back to PE to get the 8 ohm versions. i WAS going to do 2 12s and 14 8s, for a total of 16 mids, 8 per amp at 2 ohm, and run all 16ohm mids. but i cant fit the last 2 8's anywhere in my setup, so i have to ditch them, hence the reason for this thread (now only 7 mids per amp, so i need one 8 ohm to keep the overall load at 2ohms). good thing though, the 12's are rated for 400w rms, so if i go with the 8 ohm 12's, itll take the extra power. the 8's are only rated for 225 so that should be fine with 212.5 watts. (eminence delta 12 and eminence delta pro8, 16ohm)
  8. Really? More power to the 8ohm? Please explain The amp is 1700 @ 2ohm. So roughly 212w per mid if i go with 8 16ohms, or 248ish eacb if i go with 7 mids, one being 8ohm.
  9. Anything wrong with doing so? For example, 8 16ohm mids for a 2ohm load vs 6 16ohm mids and 1 8ohm, also for a 2ohm load?
  10. Want your guys opinion on this. On my HHR wall, Im thinking of covering the inside of the ported chamber in suede as opposed to painting it. Would this affect sound or performance any?
  11. bad pics, covered pieces of the trim panel on the wall too. not screwed in just yet. starting to look like something though lol
  12. plasti dipped the stock shift knob wrapped the bezel, dash is almost complete. my bass knob, in place of the rear wiper control
  13. the sides will be covered at a later date.
  14. na sold those about a year ago lol
  15. gonna suede these saturday. and this too. this will be the darker gray suede, and there will be a border around it covered in the lighter gray suede.
  16. One thick coat of the hammered finish on. I'll put another coat tonight when I get home. matches my suede pretty well.
  17. well i've been laid off for almost a month now, so thats why progress halted. starting a new job next week making alot more money, so once i catch up on some bills, ill start finishing this up (didn't have money to be spending on fiberglass and stuff the last month) this didnt cost much for the paint, so i finished sanding it pretty good, and hit it with some texture. i put about 3 coats on, looks REALLY clean in person IMO. they didnt make it in any colors i liked, so i hit it with this, and then im using a gray hammered satin finish over it. it looks like it matches my suede pretty well, and i like it better than black.
  18. ill look into that m5. im sure it would if you had everything needed for it to be street legal. its registered, has a tag, insurance, lights etc. same as a car.
  19. hey m5.. my buggy has a bus tranny and reduction boxes on it..which i want to remove.. can i remove the reduction boxes and keep the same tranny, or do i need to look for a tranny out of a bug and just swap it? my uncles has im sure a similar motor, but he has a bug tranny and no reduction boxes. my top speed is like 55 and he can get to like 75+ with still more to go. i can be in like 3rd gear maxed out and he will still be crusing mid 2nd gear. mine will climb up a hill or sand way better than his, but we both drive them only on the street so i want to make mine more street friendly.
  20. pics? they go for around 2k-4k around here, couldnt find anything cheaper.. my old one was 400 bux but it was just a rolling chassis..by the time i put new parts on things that needed it and a motor/tranny i woulda been around that price anyways
  21. Nope but i got my amp tweeters and hu. Need to order my powerbass 4xl mids lol
  22. thinking about going with purple. i might buy one in blue green and purple, and hook it up temp to see at night, so i can get an idea, and then just return what i dont like.
  23. i paid 2,250 for it yea its loads of fun. i need to add some more lights, as its harder for people to see me at night now i suppose. my uncle has a white rail buggy with some green led strips that light up the engine area. he had blue but kept getting pulled over (i really want blue lol) but idk i might do green or maybe purple (not too many where its tacky, but just a few to add some accent lighting) i think pretty much any color i mentioned (green blue or purple) would look badass with the flat black. ideas??
