  1. more questions. ive decided to nix the midbass. im gonna run the 8 tweets and 8 midrange, and whatever crossovers we come up with... amp(s): should i run 1 amp or 2? if i run 1, i dont think i can give 100w to each mid and 45 to each tweet...thats why i was thinking getting an amp for the mids, and an amp for the tweets, only thing would be setting the gains correctly for both. how hard is that? can it be done?
  2. You say I shouldn't do midbass? Idk where I cross my subs at usually lol, this is my first system! The 8 tweets will be in the door panels. The are 3.4"x3.4" each. I have a few ideas of how I'm gonna glass them in the panels. I'm waiting on my spare set of door panels incase I mess up mine ;-) hahaha What I might do is put 4 tweets in each door, 1 midrange in each kick, 2 in each door, and 2 in the wall behind me, or make a pod on the headliner and have them angled down at the seats from the roof. I'm prally gonna get an epicenter or something of that nature to better the sound of these, although I'm sure ill be happy with them lol. And for the record- I'm out of my mind BORED at work, posting and browsing forums from my blackberry. God I love this thing!
  3. What if I didn't run midbass? I mean honestly...would I hear it with the 4 15" mts? And wouldn't it make the crossover situation easier since ill only have 8 tweets and 8 midrange, no midbass? Exscuse my ghetto-ness. Lol.
  4. Kick panels. They're already glassed for a set of 6.5's
  5. by the way- im still so confused on what active and passive is...help me out.
  6. i know but these speakers still came out to be cheaper than horns + midbass. and ive heard them in real life and they are loud as fvck. plus im just a moron and dont listen to anybody lol
  7. also- depending on if i can fit 3 6.5s in my door properly(without firing into the side of the seat) ill prally just sell 2 of the tweets, and run 6 tweets and 6 midrange, rahter than 8 and 8. so just picture that diagram i made with 2 less of the tweets and midrange.
  8. ok first off, i know how you guys are lol, so please dont flame me. i need help with what crossovers to get/should i just get custom ones? now, this is what i currently have: 8 eminence apt80 tweeters, 6 eminence 6.5" midrange, and 2 eminence 6.5" midbass. i didnt realize it would be easier to set up the crossovers if i had the same number of midrange and tweets. so im gonna get 2 more 6.5" midrange, and mount them in the wall behind me. the other 6 will be in the front doors, 3 per side. there will be 4 tweets per side. and the 2 midbass will be in the kicks. now. this guy i was talking with said to run 2 seperate amps. one for the midbass, and one for the midrange/tweeters. he said to get an audiocontrol 6xs for this setup, and then to further seperate the 8 midrange and 8 tweets, he said to get some of these(not sure if/how many yet lol) http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.c...r=290-652&DID=7 lets stop there, i have more questions but we will go from here. as i said before, i really appreciate the help i get here, when i get it. i dont like the flamming tho lol. with that said, ill be waiting for all you guys help! thanks! VJ ps- after i get all this installed, ill be closer to getting another daily driver, so its not like ill be driving this everyday. just when i wanna be really loud lol...my next system will be pure SQ.
  9. i found a used soundstream xx10000d for a good price anyone played with one of these?
  10. throw out some budget amps thatll do around 2500w rms @ 1 ohm daily, will run @ .5 or whatever if its stable daily...its for my 15" mts...i have 4. i know the power acoustik a3000db is rated at 2300w and doesnt even do that, but i heard they are .7 ohm stable daily, does anyone know what these amps are capable of? hifonics? help!
  11. Where can I go about getting a set? How much do people normally pay for these?
  12. What model ID horns should I run?
  13. Lol what are ribbons? And I have another question. Would 4 sets of components be louder than one set of horns? Becuase I MAY buy these door panels and its made for 3 sets, and have the 4th in my kicks. I currently have 2 sets of diamond audio d661s components. And yes, I am not looking for top notch sq, I want decent sq though.
  14. Lmao shut up casey u post that in every one of my threads!!! Lol I'm kinda liking the pioneer 980bt...
  15. Guys idk what I wanna do...horns, or multiple components...I really can't decide. If I run horns, I don't want crappy sounding horns...
  16. So if I get a 8454 or 8455 I don't need a crossover? What about pioneer priemier HU's?
  17. Damnit I can't decide what I want...what am I gonna do for crossovers?
  18. Cool thanks guys for the support
  19. Denim, the are in a volvo. 1 pair of mids in the front doors, stock location, with the tweets firing up on top of the dash, and the other set firing up on the rear deck, both mids and tweets. What is passive and active? Lol... CBFryman, I would do that, but I don't know how to build crossovers, where could I get crossovers? And what is a good pair of 8s to run for midbass? I kind of like this idea better. Let me know...
  20. I like the horns idea, I just don't want to spend that much money, would it come out costing more than the components? Denim, my friend has 2 pairs of p6.2s, and they just don't get as loud as a would have thought. They are ran off an 8004. Thanks for the help so far guys. VJ
