  1. Hood Champ...checkin in. Been waiting for this for awhile now and I want to thank Mark and Aaron once again for being some cool ass cats. I loved car audio since the first time I was introduced to a real system in the early nineties. Two Fosgate 15s walled in a camaro with 1986 Nintendo, VCR, and a small color television. Before that shit became standard! Its been turning my head ever since... First ride is the 91 Silverado with the 5.7L V8. Current build is the 18" BTL with a SAZ1500D. Custom door pods with MLi65s and tang Band tweeters powered by a SAX100.4. Just finished putting the new tweets in so a video will be up soon. New build for 10ft3 enclosure is on hold for the moment. I might just do it anyway for the practice and fun but Ive been mulling it over and have decided to do something else... Im going to add another 18" BTL. Ive been looking at selling my 1500D and buying the AP30001D. It all depends on the cash flow at the time. Hopefully the time is by this spring! Second ride is a 94 Metro. Currently has a Z15 being powered by an SAE1200D. Im selling the Z15 and will be starting a new build with four 12" Hertz ES300s. They are sitting in the garage from my last build so no money there! Thinking of maybe a bandpass of some sort...not sure yet as the idea is still very fresh. All I know is I NEED the back seat UP! It is the only one left so it must stay. So the process of this build will be fun, no doubt. Im guessing some crafty fiberglass work is going in here... Both rides will be built for SPL. I want them to be as loud as shiiiit! Im entering a Meca event soon to dip my toes now that the Silvy is operational. It will be the first of many to come. I want numbers...I want trophies...more importantly, I want to have a great time and meet some cool cats. Josh
  2. We are all holding you guys to that now. We want to see videos!
  3. Weeeere waaaaitng!LOL
  4. Get ready to be busy dude. There is a TON of dudes here that want enclosures made for them.
  5. Come on man, we need a video here. This is just torture dude!
  6. o yeah all going in my trailblazer 18-20cf wall. havent come up with a final design yet as i need to figure out space for the batteries and all. it will be tuned to 32hz as far as plans go now This sounds like a loud setup. I cant wait to see some of this. Are you sure you want to go that large with all that power? Usually the enclosure is smaller if overpowering.
  7. Nice equipment dude. Is all this going to one ride?
  8. Welcome dude. Hard to say exactly but your amp doesnt have a subsonic filter? Or is it fixed?
  9. If thats the case, you dont have enough port area for this size enclosure. At the minimum you would want 108in2 for a 9ft3 enclosure. A general rule of thumb is 12-16sqin of port area per cubic foot of volume. Maybe you can cut the face down and make the port wider? This will change the tuning and as well as the port boards. Definitely should have thought this out a little more before you put this together.
  10. Ok. You have 94in2 of port area. The port walls that arent shared as the outside of the enclosure should be measured. Ie if your port bends to the right, then measure the right side of the port walls. This meaning the two boards on the inside of the enclosure that make the L. I have 57"W x 25"H x ? What is your depth so we can find exactly what the gross volume is?
  11. What are the dimensions of the port? How wide is it? How long are the port walls? You should have come here first so we could have helped you design it properly.
  12. Thanks. It was repainted from original but still followed the same color scheme. It would be hard to change it to any other color as my interior is blue as well. Im too worried about cause blue is my favorite anyway. I worked really hard on the pods so thank you. Im going to design something for the kicks soon. Just another mid bass probably. I use the stock dash location still as the pods arent totally complete yet. I will continue to use them but the rears suck. They are old and sound if they are blown. Its a bitch to remove the panels so I just fade it to the front. Theres a lot that say the kicks work well for staging and there are the opponents. Sean is one of the latter. I agree its a relatively hard truck to stage properly and still look nice too.
  13. Awesome idea. Im gonna steal it!
  14. Thats a great looking truck you got.
  15. This is a nice start with a good list of equipment.
  16. This is a very busy weekend for all, Im sure. Wait a hot minute. We'll get there.
  17. Yes. lol Please share this link to these bnib tractor batteries you speak of.
  18. We had sun for a week here at about 75 degrees. Today we have clouds...Boooooooo!!!
  19. This is the best price Ive been able to find online. It is for Dekas but arent we still talking about budget batteries? deka 9a31 Does anyone know of a cheaper online source? Sorry for the thread jacking. remy battery Deka Intimidator 9A31 Battery I tried that one too. It works out to be about $10.50 more than Tri State with shipping. I was hoping it wasnt. I like to get down to the nitty gritty on the price. Any others?

  21. ohh didn't know that... i was thinking it would be alright just to do the resin because it was solid after one coat... On a small tweeter, you can get away with just fabric, resin, and filler. It wont need much strength. A larger speaker enclosure will generally need the layering of mat.
  22. Check out some of this stuff. It stays tacky during layers so you dont have to sand. Tap Plastics Then on the last layer, you add the hardener. Surface Curing Agent Its pretty cool stuff. You will want the bubble buster as well. Coming along nicely. How do you get exactly 67% though! LOL
