First, have you checked all wiring leads to make sure all connections are good? After testing the volts with a dmm, did you try to hook it up again? If so, did it do the same thing?

Nothing is ever right if you are looking at max ratings. Max ratings are a marketing ploy to get people to think they are getting tons of watts. In reality its a bunch of . So no, you wont get 4k rms for $189. Its not possible. You will get max, which is what they are advertising.

Actually it says this: 4/8-gauge power and ground leads recommended. 4 being the largest and 8 being the smallest.

Got ya, thanks man. I'll let you guys know how it turns out. Any idea what size fuse I should run in between the alt/batt? I'm running 1000w RMS and I don't plan on exceeding that. You can fuse there if you like but make sure to keep extra fuses in case you blow one. It would suck to be stranded because of a blown fuse. I dont fuse there so Im not familiar with how large you should use.

Im assuming you are testing at the amp with the car on, right? What kind of amp is it also?

In my experience the expensive RCAs dont do shit. The cheap ones do the same job with the same performance. I get the cheapest possible and havent ever had a problem.

Again, I would leave all stock wires alone. Just add the new ones even if you have to make a new grounding point.

Leave those wires alone. Just add new ones. Neg batt to chass and chassis to engine block. Block ground is fine. Are you not doing the pos wire?

No, we didnt have too much time to sight see. We were only there for about a day and half and needed much more time to see what Oregon has to offer. A lot of my pictures were out the window of the car, driving down the highways! I do remember seeing the elk though. That was nutz! They hang out right next to the road when you drive by. We turned around thinking it wasnt real. Stared at em for about a minute till I seen them blink. OH shit, they are real! Of course my camera was dead and Im right next to an 800lb monster thats not moving! Perfect moment blown!
