Thanks a lot for all the info. You explained it very well and it helped me a bunch. Im looking at entering either the Bass Race or Psyclone. Dont know what class of Bass Race as I have never metered my truck before. Im going to email Doug with some questions and hopefully I can get a practice run or something to see what class I should be in. I figure to use some Jeezy as it seems to hit the hardest out of the music I have. Maybe Gucci Mane. Im excited for the show!

When I visit the Meca site it says that it will only be SQ, Install, and RTA. So...DbDrab will do the SPL at the event then? Im confused. I just want to get metered and have some fun seeing some bad ass rides in the meantime

Yes, I know its Meca for the SQ comp I believe. I think its both entities that are putting this on. Meca for SQ and DbDrag for SPL? Thanks, shizzon for the help. I'll chech out those rules as well.

If you get the accidental coverage for like $60, you can dip the alt in hydrochloric acid if you want to and he will still take it back. Its only a one time deal though. Good luck with whichever alt you purchase though.

I havent ever had any car metered before. This will be my first comp of any kind. I remember the window line thing from reading a while ago and Im right under the back window with my enclosure. Most of the rules Im reading all have the car sealed up with the owner outside. What are the classes where the door is open and you sit inside? This is a lot more complicated than I thought.

Speaker wire got here sooner than expected so I got to work. Worked out great because it wasnt raining today either. Wired the driver door and put the panels back on. Couldnt get the tweeters to come on at all though. Flipped through the crossover settings and not a peep. The mids are working great although they needs some adjustment. I used butt connectors to attach the new wire to the speaker wire exiting from the pod and Im sure they havent come loose. They were very tight. Something is up but not quite sure what it is. No matter what I did, the tweeters would never make a sound. Pretty frustrating actually. I'll have to check it out in the daylight.

I wouldnt go any lower than 11 volts at any dip. Especially not if it stays there for extended periods of time. Amps dont like low voltage.

Yes Im going active. Using the SAX100.4 with the 6.5s on channel 1&2 and the tweeters on channels 3&4. Going to try and cross the mids around 40-50ish. A little more speaker wire, which should be here on Mon or Tues, and I should be ready for installing the panels.

I can only speak for Mechman as I never used DB Electrical. My alt has never given me a problem since the moment I installed it. Got it on sale with one year "anything goes" replacement warranty for $360. Very happy with it.
