  1. For that amount, its hard to get 2k watts rms from a really quality amp. The Hifonics will get there but only at 14.4 volts.
  2. Girl works on the box for you. Lucky guy. Lookin good though.
  3. What is your budget for the amp? Maybe we can help you find one.
  4. Welcome dude.
  5. Welcome. Nice ride.
  6. What kind of enclosure are you going to use? The BTLs rms is 2k watts. What kind of amp are you using also?
  7. They should be large enough but I wouldnt go with anything less than 250.
  8. I wouldnt say its a straight trade for $250 though.
  9. Congrats. Thats a nice choice. Fi FTW!
  10. Thanks for the recommendation, I hear alot of comments from people who like Fi saying the BTL is musical, then comments from people who like other companies (AQ, DD, DC, etc.) saying the BTL isn't musical at all it's quite frustrating and difficult to discern who's more correct.... which is why I'm asking on here as I can hopefully get some input from fella's who've used them both.... I have spaces to fill there, and like I said they'll only be played when demoing the vehicle but it would still be nice if they sounded fairly good when they did play. If I went with the Tang Band's I was going to simply pass band them from 60-350hz to help reinforce that range of midbass since their given response is 35-350hz. But that was just one idea and I wasn't crazy with it to start with. I was trying to think of a solution that may work without pulling the sound stage rearward too far even if it was only for demoing... If you have the money to spend and feel like doing it, then go for it. I think you will be fine though because the rear has no windows that go down.
  11. Make sure all your grounds are properly cleaned of paint and secure.
  12. A good starting point could be 5ft3 enclosure tuned to 32hz.
  13. Welcome dude.
  14. Welcome dude.
  15. If you really think you can fit up to a 10ft3 enclosure, then why not get an 18" BTL? Or maybe a DC level5? Maybe even a 15" Warden! You dont need all the space but it depends on how much power you have going to it.
  16. Do we get to see any pics on this build? I have a good imagination but I like pics better.
  17. If you have the amp already, then why not use it? It says you "got" it so thats why I made that assumption. How much rms does it do at a 1 ohm load?
  18. I hear ya man... I really do, but on this on wants an needs are a different story for this ride... Again, this one is my Daily... It also has to have WAF (Wife Approval Factor)... So I'll be lucky if I can give up the space/power/money for 1 15 Sub and 1 Set of Componets per each Front/Rear doors... Now My Blazer, that will be a different Story all together... With this thread I was just wanting to make sure that the Power I was planning, would decently push the MoMos... Yea, I'd love more power, but I gotta Draw the line somewhere... I'm just wanting to do a basic system here and with a quik really basic off the top of my head estimate I'm already well over 2K... 700 Headunit 300 Front Set MoMos 150 Rear Set MoMos, Buy 1 get one 1/2 off 365 4Ch Amp for Mid/Tweets 615 Sub amp 300 Sub 200 Wiring accessories 2630 Sub tot Thats no Deadener, no install if I have some of it done, no alarm... It'll take awhile just to get all this in... Once the dust settles then I might try to eeek in some Upgrades... Have you looked into buying used from Db-r for the amp?
  19. Thanks alot and yes it is dual chambered Btw, welcome dude.
  20. What is that supposed to mean. If you put the speaker in the box it will work. Do you mean, youre not sure if it will be loud enough? Not wanting to build another box if its not right? Why not? Thats part of testing. Everyone does that at one point or another.
  21. Sorry man, I dont really know what your saying. I was posting in the newb section cause I thought it was a bit of an elementary problem I had. Didn't really relate to anything audio and I read where some members seemed to be alittle ticked with new members because they might not have used the search tool before posting. I thought I would post here as a starting line. I think it's a good idea to use the search, but I don't think its the end all when I cannot see it performing more than 1 word searches very accurately. Thats why I asked if someone could explain to me how to manipulate the search criteria appropriately. Usually newbs post the first three times there but most do it just once to introduce themselves. You can put things that you are not sure about in the general area. As long as it pertains to car audio. The search tool is kinda rough so good luck with that. I do it manually sometimes but it takes AWHILE.
  22. Nice recessed look. Is that dual chambered?
  23. Try all different variations of connections to the rcas on the amp and if you still have the same sound then Id say there is a problem with the amp.
