  1. Hi

A 20 hz tone shouldnt be that loud. That is a really low frequency that you will more likely feel. And see tearing sound waves through your ride! I wouldnt be using that bass boost on the amp too much there either. Another thing. You bought Q's and put them in a small sealed box but want them loud. You need to ask yourself if you want output over sound quality. Port those Q's in a bigger box and they will get louder. Still going to sound great though also.
  2. Try using this to get an idea of what size and tuning the slot ported box will be. Its not exact but its works quite well. http://www.reaudio.com/speaker_box/LPort_Box_Calc.html

Uh oh...I smell a 4 18" BTL Tahoe build.lol. Welcome and trick or treat dude.
  4. Ya his number was 10 i think. Who was he again? I must have missed that hit. Maybe thats where he went.
  5. Then you are pulling more juice than you are creating. Your alt cant quite keep up with you bumping and the window and the same time. I dont know if a 2nd batt is going to help or what an optimizer is so i cant help you there. But I do know that a h/o alt will help a whole bunch depending on how far your upgrades are going to go and if its worth it or not.
  6. Now is this dimming with window button and music on at the same time, or just window by itself?
  7. Ya what happened to that short qb you had? He was decent. Kessling or something?
  8. No... That wouldn't make any sense. How could a box be sealed if it had a port in it? I was talking about which type of box is better for which application. Do sealed boxes play low notes better than a low tuned ported box? Would the 2 of the 15's in 3-3.5 cu. ft. each sealed be louder than the 4 infinity's sealed in 1.25 cu. ft. each? Having sealed is geared more towards SQ. Its not going to be as loud but it will have better sound quality. When you want to go louder, you port the box and go the other way. Ported shoould almost always be louder but always depends on the install of course. So if your definition of playing low notes better is actually louder, then yes with the same afforementioned conditions. In a sealed enclosure, I like a smaller size for output. But its kinda backwards looking to get louder than one another with sealed enclosures. And with a name like Feel The Bass I think you want ported.
  9. I know. I always wondered how it would be to have a high voltage system! I think I just got a peek! I was thinking about the pics as soon as I pulled in the parking lot at the shop. I was so ripped leaving the house I barely remembered my wallet. Now after seeing all that, I really wish i had some pics! Damn!
  10. This guys is totally into SQ. So far as to say, spl is annoying and I probably cant get very good SQ in my truck anyway if I tried because it "sucks" based on the year. But I needed that meter and Im in control of my emotions, so its like "say what ever you want and give me that meter." Hes usually an Ok guy but this BTL thing bent him the wrong way I think. The alt is in my sig and its BNIB by Mechman. Its the Rhino series 250 amp/ 125 amp idle. Ya I surely hope I was getting 2k out of that. I would have thought the Hifonics would smoke at 16-18 volts! Come to think of it, the sub is loud as hell but it doesnt move as much as I see on these videos of other peoples. I wonder how loud this is gonna get!
  11. There is some stuff called black magic gloss. It might be what you are looking for. I noticed it on masterofallbase's build log. I like the look of it personally.
  12. If by float you mean resting voltage with the car and everything in it completely off. Im not too familiar with the term float, sorry. Its was at about 15 volts though. I dont know now because I dont have a meter. Trying to get a neighbor down the street to come over with his clamp meter.
  13. There are probably a lot of companies that will have that. Who have you contacted so far?
  14. So I went to a local car audio shop today to see if I could use their DMM. I wanted to get voltage and amp readings to see what my amp was really doing. Of course, first thing he has to be a funny guy and ask me if i need new subs because I replaced the ones I bought from him with a BTL. He lets me use his occilloscope and I take my first reading with car off at batt. 15.5 VOLTS!!! Uh...Wtf? So then Im scared to even start the truck and see what it says then. 18.3 VOLTS!!! SHIT!!! Jumped in under the hood and turned the external voltage regulator set screw all the way down on the alt. This screw was never adjusted by me at all before, mind you. I installed the alt and left the voltage regulator as it was. The voltage looked normal on the dummy dash gauge before and after install so I thought it was at normal voltage or just a touch higher. Retesting resting voltage at batt. 15.5 volts. Started the truck. 16 VOLTS!!! WTF? Same at the amp. Checked dummy dash gauge and stinger voltmeter which both showed decrease in voltage. But they show about the same at idle which is 12.6-12.7. Which is exactly 2 volts less than before. Holy shit! I hope nothing got fnucked up! I havent been driving it much at all and I havent noticed anything unusual with the electrical system. Aw man, this is all bad. I went in looking to see what my amp would do and came out with this huge voltage problem! Is this voltage going to be ok now that it is all the way down? Its still at like 15.5-16 volts at idle and Im not sure if its too much still? What do you guys think? And why did my dummy gauge not show 18 volts after install? But on the other side I guess that amp can handle high voltage!
  15. It does depend more on the enclosure but its getting lobsided and I vote Fi.
  16. The box looks good chop. I dont know if I could invert the sub for all to see though. Id always be trippin someone is going to try and snatch it from me! Its a helluva lot easier puttin that box in there without taking the seat out but I bet I took some tetris type shit to get it in. I had to take one of mine out and of course it was a pain in the ass. How did you get that 4 ga in the terminals? You must have widdled it down or had some sort of reducer with an 8 ga banana plug or somethin, right? Anyhow it definately looks cool. They look like 2ga! Looks like you inverted your subs quite bit on those systems. And youve had quite a few systems as well. Money.
  17. I vote 125.2. I have one and its awesome. Right now I have it running a Z15. lol
  18. Ive been ridin on about 17-20 hrs of sleep since sun. I thought you guys were young? Man up!
  19. That box looked way to big for those type r's. That dude was lifted too. Sky high. He looks familiar. That guys install looked like shit. So did his grille...Damn!!!
  20. Its not a hobby but I like to spend time with my 11 year old daughter. Shes a real busy little girl and I want to spend as much time with her as possible before I become uncool. Wait...check that. Too late. Before I become totally embarrasing.
  21. Well, we figured that. Or you are doin a lot of car jacking! Lol. $300 wont get you too far without being a little crafty.
  22. Love the base and how clean it looks. It has a nice reflective sheen to it. Lookin real good so far.
