  1. I was talking to a guy at a local shop and he was telling me that he had a friend that has 3 pioneer premier spl subs that was hitting 229db. I just laughed in his face. he was looking at me like I was the fool.
  2. What kind of amp do you have?
  3. the second one was posted less than a day ago
  4. found this on youtube. thought it was hilarious. there is a 5 part series. this is just two of the vids.
  5. SBN 2009 Virgil Williams • 1987 Rabbit (soundstream XXX-18 &soundstream XXX15K) • Ultimate 1 – 1st (169.9 dB) • 169.6, then 169.9, then 170.3, then 170.2 There's your proof or power right there. a single 18 and 15,000 watts. It took on an additional 5,000rms, can you say ridiculous. I was always interested in Soundstream Subs especially the Tarantula series but always picked Kicker CVX's over them(not saying I made the best decision since I never heard any of Soundstreams subs), just wondering how good are Soundstream subs. my new setup is going to be 2 soundstream xxx-18's and 2 xxx-6500d's. i've seen these things handle an atomic 7000.1 daily no problem.

  7. Look into the soundstream stealth 13 shallow sub. i'm a soundstream dealer and it has a really good bass response being ONLY 2" DEEP Thanks for the rec. I looked at the stealth 13 - but it's a 13.5" sub like the JL - which just won't fit in the height i have available in those quarters. 12 is as big as i can go... i've got 5.5" depth to work with, not counting what is used by the box. Thx! Yes, but the cutout is that of a 12 in sub. its like 11.375" I saw that. unfortunately the space i have really is tight on a 12. I really doubt it would fit. I'll take some more measurements and check though. A lot will depend on the enclosure i have built, so trying to be a bit conservative. i gotcha. good look let us know what you decide
  8. beer in the gas tank sounds pretty bad
  9. check grounds and did you do the big 3? Yeah he did the Big 3 already. didn't catch that. my bad
  10. check grounds and did you do the big 3?
  11. you were informed right about knukonceptz. excellent cable I would do 1 or 2 runs of Kolossus Fleks Kable to the back (2 runs for less voltage drops) http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KFX0R use all the same cable for the big 3 and for the power and ground for the amp. 4 guage for the alpine knukonceptz Karma speaker cable http://www.knukonceptz.com/productMaster.cfm?category=Karma%20SS%20Speaker%20Kable
  12. kinda looks like a hotwheels toy

  14. about that sure
  15. Here in houston,tx. only a handful of people know of sundown or IA. everyone else relies on BS shops for their audio. I'm a soundstream and RE audio/US amps dealer and I'm trying to spread them into the houston area. everyone is riding memphis, JL, and Kickers Jock.
  16. run one voice coil to each channel making the load 4 ohms
  17. the stats don't say if it can handle two ohms. I shouldn't be a problem though if it can handle 1 ohm. thats weird
  18. THIS TRUCK IS CRAZY!! THE CRAZY THING IS THAT IT HAS FULLY STEERING AND FUNCTIONALITY. PLEASE VIEW AND COMMENT. Video two shows the functionality of the steering
  19. I agree, not all shops suck. but I think it should be know that some of the shops that do bad installs or are not knowledgeable of product should be put on blast. just like you said, had it over to the professionals. But what if the susposed "PROS" really are not what they say they are.
  20. look towards the houston area. not sure if anyone else would agree
  21. Yea I am 19, I try to be respectful to people driving or walking down the sidewalk. I actually got into a huge huge huge argument with some dude on here about being respectful. I think his name was pheonix or something like that. He was the most immature person I have ever seen on this forum. He might be banned. I'm not sure, haven't seen him since that night. While riding through a neighborhood, or an area with residents, the respectable thing to do would be turn it down. especially if you know how hard your system hits.
  22. LOL Glad someone found that funny.lol
  23. There is this shop in Houston, tx called Master Car Stereo Plus. they are the most over rated shop i have seen in a long time. and they do alot of shady stuff in their installs. I have gotten a numerous of their clients that come to me for advice and custom boxes. One install that they did that stood out to me was so crappy. they were using 4 guage cable for 3000 watt planet audio amp and had a cap installed with all 4 guage. and this power wire was cheap. 6 guage in 4 guage casing. they also had a external crossover they were using and they spliced in the 10 guage power wire into the 4 guage power wire for the amp as it was coming into the dash and put tape around it. not black electrical tape, regualar duck tape. relays were every were with no protection at all just flooping around in the engine bay and trunk area. the guy had pop trunk and led lights that were cheaply installed. i don't know how they get away with all that they do.
