  1. finished the floor and pods last night ... ill post pics later on today ... only had to make a 3/4 in spacer for the doors too ... pumped about that lol ... does it really make that much of a difference whether i go triple or single baffle? i havent seen many boxes triple baffled or even double baffled ... i put 4 supports going from back to front in between each of the subs to prevent flex
  2. ik i also saw that jay ... that is nice ... it can also be used to see out of as well unlike my setup =) ... i also love how this project is pinned ahahahah
  3. here is a couple pics just the inside of the box my friend josh doin work on the jigsaw me trying to cut some holes as saw dust blows everywhere josh dominating the hinge false floor just a test fit after the holes are cut t40001bd =) keep it a secret amps sitting tight bitch ass e brake i had to take out to fit in pods ... when all else fails a set of bolt cutters and a sawzal gets the job done my re xxx subs ............ i mean mids 4" mounting depth lmao more pics of the mids more pics of the mids theres a lot more to come

  5. im adding pics tonight so prepare yourself lol
  6. the subs are nice but just wait till you see the side view of the mids (almost 4" depth) =) ... im most likely going to sell my avic d3 and get an alpine double din when i get some more money lol ... im a 19 year old college kid and broke lol
  7. i read it on a forum ... people use bed liner spray too ... if it isnt beneficial then im just not going to put anything in it ... the box will be fine
  8. under the seat is a better spot ... just make sure it stays cool
  9. u will be fine with that amp ... if you notice voltage dropping look up the big 3 and perform that ... my stock 130 amp alt was doing fine with over 2000 rms without the big 3 =) ... its probably only going to put out about 900 watts at 1 ohm ... what type of subs do you have and what are they dual or single 1,2, or 4 ohm
  10. gonna need more info ... is your amp 3500 watts rms? what is the fuse rating? also what is the brand as some tend to be overrated? ... your amp will only draw as much current as it needs so at higher volumes it is obviously going to draw more to make the sub louder ... the level control is how much output your amp will give ... if u do not know how to adjust this i highly suggest reading how to tune your amp with a dmm (digital multimeter) ... if you adjust it wrong you will cause your amplifier to clip and that has the potential to kill your sub ... people think the higher you turn it up the more power it will produce ... it will produce more power but not useable power ... it will produce heat thus heating up your amp and killing your amp and send square waves instead of sine waves (clipping, what i told you about)
  11. i was going to sound dead my box in and out with some raammat i bought ... does it really help all that much? i was going to coat the inside and outside ... is that beneficial or can I get away with just doing the inside?
  12. redoing pretty much everything ... heres a list of stuff going in Pioneer Avic-D3 2 Sets of RE Audio XXX6.5C 1 Set of Kicker RS65 1 Iraggi 260 Amp Alternator 4 SSA 12" Icons 1 Rockford Fosgate T40001BD 1 Rockford Fosgate T8004\ 2 C and D Technologies 100lb batteries Custom Fiberglassed Pods Custom Built Box Custom Built False Floor Custom Built Rear Arm Rest pictures will come shortly =)
  13. i am going to be so sad when this car is finished =( ... no more amazing craftsman pictures =(
  14. you can even just mount the entire amp to the wall if you want ... id recommend an amp rack tho
  15. you should try to make an amp rack above the box ... have a mounting bracket attached to the wall of your truck in the back ... you do not want your amp resting on the box ... ur internals will thank you later and so will your wallet =)
  16. clipping can occur no matter what as long as you have your gains wrong ... what happens is you push your amp so hard that it is giving off other forms of power instead of wattage ... clipping is also not audible all the time ... most clipping you cannot even hear ... you should switch your amps out before you get a new sub ... the same thing might happen with a new sub and you will be damaging it by sending out clipped signals ... your amps hold the key to the sound quality of your subs
  17. it is only a 1.2 cu ft box tho so will it be effected more
  18. so i should be alright with the frequency i tuned it at then if it only brings it down a little bit
  19. how does it measure the frequncy of the port if it does not know the displacement of the sub?
  20. u might have set ur gains too high ... even tho that is a boss amp it is stll rated at 1200 ms which means it can probably do 600-800 and u are probably sending that much to that sub clipped ... that sub is 450 rms ... u are probably clipping your output if u turn those up ... bass boost is engaged around 45 hz so i would not doubt that is ur prob ... read this http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=3704
  21. i am returning my excess amperage alt for a 260 amp iraggi alt most likely ... has anyone had any experience with their alts? how are they?
  22. my friend has that same one ... for his ipod i think he had to buy a special cable that charges it and it is a pain in the ass because you have to scroll through all of the songs using the small screen they have ... he found it easier to actually just disconnect it and find the song and then reconnect it ahahahah
  23. do you run your system with the battery off? if not then dont bother with a battery just get an upgraded alternator
  24. ya i emailed him and told him to send me a new one with a birth sheet because i know it is not putting out 300 amps peak and 120 at idle ... i cant send it back and then get a new one because my factory one broke ... the terminal on the top somehow came off l... it looks like a screw and the housing is plastic ... it is not getting a solid connection ... is there anything i can use to hold it down ... i hammered it down and it stayed for a couple mins but then pops out and my voltage drops because it cannot get a solid connection... would gorilla glue melt off?
  25. a battery isnt going to do anything for you without the proper charging system ... do the big 3 then if that is not enough get the alternator ... a 130 is pretty big and should be fine because that amp is only going to put out 2250-2500 watts n e way if your lucky hifonics/crunch are very overrated but for the price they are not bad amps imo ... when ur car is on it is running on the alt not the battery ... the only time the battery is engaged is when the voltage of the battery is higher than that of the alternator ... the battery is a load in itself just like your amplifier .... yes you will be able to maintain 12.5 and under for longer by putting in a second battery or bigger battery but you dont want that ... you want to be in the 13-14 volt range ... more volts at a constant resistance = more current = more watts =)
