  1. my apology, i'm kinda tired and not thinking straight - models are now in first topic
  2. I was wondering if it was possible to wire my 4 ohm subwoofer to a bridged 4 ohm - just need a diagram on how to wire it. thanks in advance. I have a alpine type-r 12" 4 ohm (SWR-1242D) and a rockford fosgate P8002 amp - 800W @bridged 4 ohm -John
  3. Yea, the current stock alternator runs 120 amps idle and 130 amps max. If I'm right I should be covered since 1200watts/14.4volts = 83.33 amp that leaves a decent amount of headroom for other car accessories to run.

Welcome, I'm new as well so we are both in for a treat. I like to see an Alpine fan since it is what I currently run (2x 12 Type-Rs)! Good luck!
  5. Hey guys, My name is John. I currently am spending my summer in Tucson, AZ. The drying out state of all. I go to college in Dallas, Tx. I have been looking to upgrade my car audio system and heard this was the place to be for knowledge. Seeing how so much has changed since the last system I put together (10 years ago) I felt it was necessary to re-educate myself. I appreciate any knowledge I can absorb from here. Thanks everyone - John
  6. it increases the durability of the woofer - like he said it increases the resale because if you run it hard it can take the power and doesn't damage the woofer
  7. This is the system I have designed on paper looking to make it in my vehicle. I'm looking to get opinions from other car audio nuts just to make sure my ideas aren't mislead. Here goes: Vehicle: 2002 Ford Explorer XLT Subwoofer: Fully Loaded 18" Fi BL Amplifier: Sundown Audio SAE-1200D Head unit: Alpine IXA-W404 Box: Custom built tuned to 31hz Wiring: Big 3 Connection using Knukonceptz 1/0 wire Battery in front: Optima YellowTop Mids-Highs- Taking suggestions on components and amplifiers to run them! This field is so wide! Please let me know what you guys think and I would love some constructive criticism. I will gladly take all suggestions in to consideration! None of this has been purchased so I am open to change.
