  1. that little port is your friend, i usually fire both back an dnever can afford to rebuild second box for comparison, but we sorta did like box a in the cougar, and it seems real nice, but now i guess we gotta do box b to decide, darn it. lol. uh, usually you will see sub up ,port back in suv's but, like all the fella's are saying, you gotta test it.....but trust me that little port is nice to have.
  2. hey fellas, just dropped in for a sec, sorry , i studied up on the whole, whoreing thing, not my intentions at all. i can see it's nature though. never really thought of people doing that. i guess i just get a kick out of being a part of this and saying welcome to new guys almost makes me feel, well, like one of the regulars. I just figured i would catch up some since me and Alex was up all night. Man i guess snooping around payed off though ( thats sorta why i started posting in IHOP) found a old friend on here, smgreen, he and i use to talk on cs several years back. we both like this sight better. i try to look around the sight and see what all there is to offer. i guess fellars like dem beats can really appreciate this portion of the sight. I promise i have no intentions to whore it up, just to expand this sight by helping do my part in keeping it tight nit, lol ( something a grandpa would say) i surely dont own anything that would sell on the classifieds, well my amp but it is still in the pawn shop, lol. 3. uh, it's going on 5 am here, just got the grandbaby to sleep so now i am going to bed til 9, ...later fellas
  4. usally the case for me..... vacation = work ? fooey!
  5. i often look at 10's and wonder how a big multiple sub install would be with them, i like the looks of a bunch of subs and the grin of saying "all i have is some 10"s".
  6. perhaps a little more read time on enclosures will zero you in on which sub you will choose, they do go hand in hand....ported is where you want to be. mdizzle, on here, moved from a fi Q to xcon , he seems to like ssa's sub quit a bit, perhaps hit him up for a reveiew.
  7. shizzzon is definetly knowledgable, so he suggested those exact subs or did he say use 10" subwoofers? what price range of 10" subwoofers are you looking for? the AQ amp, do you have it already?
  8. digging around and found this ....
  9. well, if i may ask, where did the interest generate from?
  10. strange out look there, no buddy might very well be the farthest thing from it............. back when i joined the ironworkers one of my bosses gave me the nick name and it has stuck for a long time. if i had to guess that must be a good name for a fat a** like me, because it definetly stuck!
  11. i personally have not looked at AQ, perhaps i will give it a look after while, hard typing and surfing the net with one hand......... feeding grand baby!!!
  12. I like this. I should have realized this a while back. With your post do you mean 136dB? I think its only physically possible to pull like 196 or 194 or something dB. As for right now I have ordered my frontend system and it should be here sometime this week.I need to look more on these 10s. I think they will do what I want them to eventually. The only problem is is I cant find any good sources for the AQ SDC2.5 Series on reviews. One guys says there awesome subs. Ok well that makes me feel a little better. One other guy may have tried them and feel that XXXXX makes a little bit better sub and a little sharper and louder for the watts put at them when they are the same as the SDC2.5. no that is what was so hilarious.....238 db....lol again about it
  13. man we have had 4 boxers quit a while, recently our oldest daughter had our first garandbaby, we had to make room , so i stepped up and let my pick go first and our other male is waiting to find a good home, it is hard to let them go, they are alot like family. `
  14. hell razor my friend, you need to freez the buying process all together for a little while! First thing first, there is no top to this, once addicted, you will never be done, there is always a upgrade, there is always a new trick or method to try, always. You need to know that this is a hobby, for entertainment, there is so many varibles, it is unreal. I , as does so many others, share your anxioity on what to buy and how it will sound. I urge you to identify your budget, which it looks like you have already. Then identify your style, what installs just look bad a** to you. Find a few products that catch your eye and read up on them. Then start to zero in on putting it all together, nice and slow, no shortcuts, and as you learn more, upgrade it and tear some out, rebuild, and never stop. as far as researching products on line, be carefull to expose yourself to "good" info, our sound club meet a guy a few weeks ago who has a buddy doing 238 db. off of 6 12"s in a trunk car! see what I mean, there is always going to be that guy that is just full of sh*t, talking ,just to hear himself, I suggest sticking around here, no bull sh*t here, and when there is, watchout! these guys call em' out quick. If you are ready to start this journey, pull up the electrical part, read all of it, start your build there, then your head unit and front stage, big bass is awarding 10 times more when it has a solid front stage to keep up with it. By this time you will be ready to start to sound deaden your car, some or all, you'll know whats right for you, then.......then it is time to look into putting some time into learning all about the enclosures, snatch up some subs you have been watching and install them. trust me, if you take this route, you will be a walking tour guide of your system, you will know what you got inside and out, you will be proud of what you have built, then you will know that no matter what the next guy has, your proud of yours. 15. So ontop of all the amp wiring kits I am going to want to order some 4 gauge for the amp to the sub? as far as your speaker wire goes, 10 gauge is fine, how ever 8 gauge seems to be growing on alot of folks.
