"preferred" seems to hold an opinionated property to it, in which i believe a "comprehensive 'guide' " would struggle to chart out the best results. looks like you have the proper info to design the vent area on hand,(thanks to Duran), as well as the vent length. the desired tunning frequency for your specific install will vary outside of what can be suggested. (imo) *ie ..... your specific listening preferances alone will step outside of what a calculator can offer. sometimes you gotta build it a couple of time to find your sweet spot. and be sure to take build pics!!!!

you know what......they are too cool imo....i am sure i could easily push them too far, but thats not our goal, never-the-less, seeing them hold on to those lows with that much headroom is impressive.... all four windows down and they can still flex the roof, flex enough to surf a cell phone across there! the new 8"s are here...my text from Regina was "those heavy ass subs came today"! lol, too awesome.... i was thinking 4th order but might flip to just ported for now and do 4th after additional study time... it seems the Q suggest this to be a little tricky, big ol motors could get mean, plus i got extra power coming at them any how. we have nice cabin gain around mid 30's and again in the low 50's..... still trying to understand it well enough to want to build and try it... if cutlass build was not going on, perhaps that would be less of a caution.... one can not have too much mdf laying around, unless ones wife finds out how much one paid for it all, then one might be in deep doo-doo!

thanks for the great comments ! i cant share these stories enough.... when i come home from work , he helps me take my boots off he always has my houseshoes waiting outside the shower for me, he knows if he sees the picture of the cutlass, it's "pa-paws car" Gina has a tattoo of my name, he tells everyone it reads "pa-paw" ask "where is pa-paw at" ?......"wurk"! if we are going "bye-bye", he will pull on my hand, "go pa-paw, go" he is such a big part of our life, and Reginae is coming up quickly now, starting to scoot and has her first tooth coming in... brothers, you might not realize it, but doesnt it seem like it was not too long ago the "congrats" were being given for Alex's birth...... he turns TWO the 9th of Aug.!!!! time flies!

gina installed the aq2200 last night, i hope to find a mic today to get metered, i think she gained a db. ?! lil ol ab subs just are too fun..... but they will tend to heat up....just gotta be carefull * carefull 2 8"s on 2200 watts....meant for 400w ....
