  1. I'm looking for a decent sub that i could possibly find on the internet for cheap with no warranty or anything. This sub is temporary so i'm not concerned about the sub blowing in a short amount of time; i just need it to last until this summer. I'm concidering buying 2 kicker cvr 12's...they are like $80 a piece...does anyone know of a sub that would be better around the same price range maybe $20-$50 more expensive btw i have a box that is like 2.5 cubic feet per chamber and the port is tuned to 33 hz according to an online tuning calculator
  2. but dd uses thick wire and would you just wire the coils together as desired and run another two wires to run them to the amp
  3. How do you wire dd subs to the amp???
  4. fyi walmart tweeters don't sound like my parents having sex.............................................they sound like nails on a chalk board
  5. he asked for cheap tweeters that was i refered to the cheapest method possible...you get what you pay for if you want cheap you sacrifice quality....if you want quality your gonna pay a little extra whether its 10 dollars more or 30 dollars more...if he wants something that will sound good hook him up with a full set of focal components and i'm sure his ears would be rather pleased
  6. You can get tweeters for cheap in alot of places. Walmart even sells tweeters. Pretty much anywhere that sells car audio equipment sells tweeters. You could probably find a higher quality tweeter on ebay for cheap as well.
  7. the truck is a 2001. I am looking for a sollution for a ported box. I don't know if the truck has the storage compartment under the seat or not. I may just have to sit them on the back seats and find a way to keep it from moving when i hit the breaks.
  8. Does anyone have a dodge quadcab or have knowledge with the vehicle to tell me what i could fit behind the front seats. I don't have a problem lifting up the back seats because i don't plan on using it anyway. I wanna put 2 12's where the second row seating is typically. I know the second row seats lift up.
  9. well i have a single cab truck... they sell a ported truckbox for 1 10 that is 1 ft3....but i'm guessing 3 10's in a sealed box and for sure 3 12's in a sealed box will hit harder because of the huge difference in cone area... Your assumption may be seriously flawed. EXACTLY how much space do you have? i'm not home to tell exactly but the box i found is made by q logic its a behine the seat truck enclosure with 6.5 mounting depth and its ported.....that would acomodate a 10 no problem and it has 1.00 cubic ft. of volume....its 25 inches long and i believe my truck has room for at least 50 inches from side to side behind the seats...and the box is within the specs for a 10...but the other enclosure i'm considering now is a three 12 sealed truck box...i'm guessing that the three twelves would be the better route
  10. lol i posted in two different places for quicker responce probably shouldn't have done that...i've got my decision down if i keep the single cab though so there will be fewer topics from now on
  11. sorry about the lack of knowledge but i'm trying to learn a little...i'll try to post a little less

  13. ok i have another question 3 10's sealed or 2 10' porter which will hit harder? using 10" fi ssd subwoofers
  14. thanks man i will probably go with the 10's in a ported box then
  15. ok well what would hit harder two twelves in sealed enclosures or 2 10's in ported enclosures?
  16. WIll an Fi SSD 12" sound ok in a 1.00 cu.ft. box with a port tuned to 35 hz.
  17. frosty42069 posted a topic in General Fi
Would it sound ok to put an Fi SSD in a 1.00 cu.ft. enclosure with a port tuned to 35 hz?
  18. thanks you guys pretty much answered all my questions......SSA is freakin AWESOME = )
  19. i'm going to mount the tweeter on a spot on the door pannel that is aimed upward towards the driver and passengers heads.... i need to find somewhere to mount the crossover though
  20. sorry about that...i thought that was the case but when i searched for components coaxials came up as components as welll...anyway i am trying to determine if i should just get coaxials or components...i plan to mount them in the stock mounting locations....would placing a component woofer in the stock door mounting location and placing tweeters in another location provide significantly better sq?
  21. is the only difference between components with a tweeter in the middle of them and components with a seperate woofer and tweeter the positioning or does the seperate woofer provide better quality. I would also like to know what company has good components for around $150. any input is appreciated.
  22. [probably just an s10...i can probably find one for about $3000 and most of them have 4.3s in them so i don't have to worry about a big drop in gas milage
