I use carrots for knife training others

Use more of the flat and less of the edge. Salt is your abrasive.

Yer, doin' it wrong. Garlic paste is WAY easier to make with a knife.

    If it's a Vidalia.
  5. Remember when I spoke about choosing mounting locations first? If you are using the doors you are going to be really far off axis and have extremely different path lengths. One you can do something about in your driver choice, the other potentially in your electronic choice. Doing nothing about either isn't so good. I'd also avoid using the electronic power as much as possible generically speaking.
  6. You "could" but I have a SERIOUSLY hard time recommending anyone use a tweeter that does not have a published frequency response. Not sure what the allure was with it that drew you to it. It's a hard shape to deal with and almost nothing measured about it makes it near impossible to know how it will work with anything. The Fs is low enough, but I expect a mess up top and perhaps even strange off axis response if they won't publish it which will make mounting it in a door not so hot.

Raw cloves in butter on crackers? you nuts
  8. Oh, and don't worry about tuning below Fs. With some processing it really is NOT a big deal.
  9. Close, but I wouldn't pick the 18Hz. Do realize that 3dB is barely audible and that movies have plenty of notes all the way down to 10Hz. You need to also start playing with box size, power, port velocity, and of course eq. Much of the roll off or anomalies can be steered with eq. Seeing how "nice" you can make it without exceeding the woofers throw is key. Definitely crank UP the enclosure size. There is a reason that people build large low tuned enclosures for movies.

Just feed it to everyone around you

I used to use the preminced stuff, but it tastes like shit in comparison; however, it's unfair. I can break down cloves rather quickly. The trick is buying ones the skin come off easier which you can tell by squishing and flexing in the store. It is also a GREAT thing to practice your knife skills on. And yes, I use my 10" Shun to mince them up.
  12. If you get a tweeter with SERIOUS balls perhaps a two way. Going to be output limited though as that 8 isn't super happy playing to high. Not sure the prs will allow you to cross low enough, but it won't be that much underlap anyways. That be your only choice to use any of your drivers. Otherwise door and 2 way those don't fit. I suppose the tweeter can be the exception, but with that profile it's rather hard to aim.

Didn't say I won't use it, just I won't use a recipe that uses it. For rubs I also use it....but I see no other purpose for it.
  14. Since 95 & Imp have already stated pretty much dead nuts reality I'll respond to one thing that hasn't yet been addressed enough obviously. What benefit is that. You just set some VERY arbitrary variables to a constant. Any spot on your head unit and -3dB. This means that for songs you'll be using your ear to adjust. Why not just do that in the first place? No matter what the choice of levels it's arbitrary as it will never match your source. In fact doing this gives people false confidence and they then turn things up and melt drivers. Outside of competition there really should never be a reason to destroy a driver other than confusion and lack of listening on the person controlling the volume knob. Of course the worst possible thing you could use for setting your gain is the SMD douchebagortion detector.
  15. Are you opposed to selling some of them and buying ones that fit your needs better? IMO that is not a good combination for a car. You chose two mids and a tweeter. Nothing is door friendly, nothing is active friendly as they have nasty breakup modes, and they aren't off axis friendly. If this is your first three way I'd re-think the choices. And as with ANY stereo decision. Box first, then budget, then drivers. And if the box is no box, it still comes first. At least the options you have. Your thread should also start by outlining those install options as they are super critical in particular with a 3 way. Even worse since you only have 2 way processing.

I would never use a recipe that calls for garlic powder
  17. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
It may take that much to make it, but no where near the flavor. Dried garlic is meh
  18. One step back, do you already have the drivers?
  19. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
Forshizzle. It works out after tax to be the same price as online. ANd you get a 10yr warranty instead of 7
  20. I don't understand the sealed part, in particular for HT. If box size is a concern, then IB would be the choice IMO.

    Went to Costco, eh?

My brain just remembered that we used to have a pulled pork recipe floating on the hop for the egg. Is either of the sauce recipes here worth using? http://www.nakedwhiz.com/elder.htm The first is more or less what I described, but without the boundaries of measurements to fuck things up. I don't believe in ketchup on que so much so the 2nd does nothing for me. I learned this trick in college at a BBQ cook-off: most squeeze bottle are 12 oz., so all you have to do is put a heaping spoon (since most eating spoons are about a tablespoon) each of sugar and powdered chiles in the bottle and fill it full of vinegar. Never heard of putting hot sauce in there too, but it certainly wouldn't hurt. That would work. Vinegar is pretty capable of absorbing sugar and the amount of heat can always be doctored. Mine would be way hotter.

Not at the moment, sorry. Home Barista or Coffee Geeks would
