Regularly it will hurt midbass. That RTA curve is not showing you anything useful. Try a reproducibility measurement once and you will see why.

The best setup for clarity and sound will always be to not have more than one driver playing midrange and above. At the same time, all speakers need to be in the front of the car to be effective.

A single ported 8 takes a huge box. Sealed 12 will take less. I flat out don't understand single 8's. Run the Icon you have and be happy, it is great.

Only way I would run an 8 is if I was going to run full rangers up on the pillars. 7" opens up the options. If it is 6.5" grab the Evil and don't look back.
