I cannot say enough at how much a difference it was when we thinsulated my roof. Was huge for this super cold, curious as to how it will do with the very hot days. I can make it almost all the way to work and there will be frost still on the top because most of the heat from the cabin did not make it up. Did insulating the roof help with road noise or just help trap the sound in the car? I believe my next step is going to be filling the a-pillar base with expanding foam. I think there is alot of road noise traveling up from the front fender through the open camber inside that area of the car body. Even though there is no mass, thinsulate works like MLV as an absorber. The long fibers are a bit "magic".
  2. Those aren't audiophiles, lol. I've stated this before and so far NO ONE has refuted it because they can't. There is no use for it. It does absolutely no good. Offer me a valid use and I'll gladly change my opinion. Let's start with you telling us what and why you'd use it. As for why knock on something you haven't used. Perhaps you should ask the question the other way. Why are so many people praising something that they have no idea what it does, why or what use it could be? Also, take a look at those that knock it. They have something in common. A fundamental understanding of electronics. The ones that use it, don't.

Jim Winey's personal listening room you'd adore. Who dat? The owner/founder of Magnepan. I did a ton of measurements for him at his house There is nothing worse than telling us something like that with out pictures of this awesome room and equipment! It was more than 10 years ago and I didn't have a camera phone then. Not sure he is even still alive and his sons are, well, interesting.

Way before it was available in the aftermarket. Still have a bunch and access to a ton more.

And even fucks up those he doesn't own Not inferring here are you? He sure has Anthony has nothing to do with SSA. John is the Second Skin presence here. Not to mention I work really hard on the proper information when it comes to sound deadening. My comments have absolutely nothing to do with sound deadening.

No snow in Minnesota ? Weird. We have yet to see any snow here this winter and didn't get any in the fall. Doesn't look like it's in the forecast, either. First brown Christmas I've ever seen in 37 years.

Motherfucker, still NO SNOW :( Curious how having 50 degree weather today will affect the Snocross racing tonight. http://www.canterburypark.com/SpecialEvents/UpcomingEvents/NationalSnowcrossEventatCanterburyPark/tabid/279/Default.aspx Not that I can go anyways since I have to go up to the farm.

And bandpassed they can take some serious power. Of course, I'd still argue that imrpoving the enclosure is an easier way of livening up the bottom end. Aside from increasing volume, possibly aperiodic? Start with an enclosure. Was that a jab at me for having them in the doors? No way I'm trying door pods or kicks in the crossfire, there's just not enough room to work with. I want some headroom as I have to push the belle a little more than I'd like for normal listening levels. And on that note, there's a fucking 7547 on ebay right now, brand new for $220. I wish I could justify spending that right now. No. I didn't know/remember they were in your doors. Just a comment.

Adjusting the corruptness does not mean making it government run. The least efficient form of anything is government. ALWAYS.

Aside from increasing volume, possibly aperiodic? Start with an enclosure. Oddball question, if I was mount a large format tweeter directly in front of a 7" mid (spaced out several inches), how would that effect the mid (below 1900hz)? Thinking of freeing up a little more space for my feet. If I could make the tweeters "float" in front of the mids and keep them in the kick panel area... Or the other option is putting the tweeters in the dash, but we talked about reflections and how unfriendly they may be. Lots of cancellation. Smaller is better in that layout as is getting the coils in as much of the same plane as possible.
