shallow mount sub?
Including driver, pole clearance, mdf/box, and excursion clearance? If so, good luck. Well, if I can find a driver similar to the SI, it should work. The SI has a mounting depth of 3.4", then allow an inch for the pole, 1" for clearance, and then 3/4" enclosure puts me at 6.9" It will be close, but would work. Forgot to add the basket depth which is normally about 3/4" as well. 1" of clearance isn't enough for excursion either.

Seems so from the preseason, but you know how it goes. The good, the bad, and the Detroit Lions. They'll find a way to blow it somehow. Probably through another Stafford, my labia hurts manuver.

Brand new subs nearly no bass?
Battery will tell you more since if out of phase they will move opposite directions.

Then check, that is Step 1.

Why do i peak higher now ?
So it just has to do with the sub/box? Yes, different woofers will peak differently in the same enclosure. Thanks for telling me. But why does it sound alot louder but meter less? Even when i played the btl @ 45hz it would outplay the Q's. My ears hurt on most songs i play now, something that only happened when i burped the Q's. and i can feel alot more pressure from the BTL.? Because the meter doesn't do anything in the frequency domain. IE, don't EVER relate a meter to output because it is a very simplified way of measuring as it is ONLY looking at your peak frequency and not the whole spectra. What you are "hearing" that is louder ISN'T at the frequency where you meter.

- 4th order for a Warden/ Will it work?
So you'd like to build a less effective enclosure to "try" something different? And you don't have room for a horn, not even close so scratch that.- 4th order for a Warden/ Will it work?
Why not try what works best to fill your goals?- Welcome to the IHoP
The XFS is actually what I drove- Welcome to the IHoP
I drove one and thoroughly enjoyed it More like Hyundai than Aston, lol. Still nice looking IMO. Only problem is the fake metal color going across the dash. Otherwise the in/out combo is sweet. I only drove the R version and only consider that, but come on why would you buy a Jag that isn't tuned up?- Welcome to the IHoP
All the new Jaguars are pretty sweet actually. HUGE improvements.- looking for new 6.5 drivers
Pretty hard for you to judge it when you don't even know what it does regardless of whether YOU have used it in a real world situation. Interesting. How and what does he "check"? So using a device incorrectly that you don’t understand that operates a simple algorithm from the 1800’s is embracing technology?- looking for new 6.5 drivers
[quote name='An-i-no' timestamp='1315377912' post='828707 He's not saying "oh that thing won't show distortion." I could get into that as well. Go find the spec and read if it measures distortion or THD. *no I haven't read the spec but know how to calculate both- Welcome to the IHoP

That's what you get for driving around people who dropped out after the third grade.- Welcome to the IHoP
You should definitely wait, with the way the car market is going i'm sure vehicles like that will only decrease in value and increase in condition. Interesting. I sort of figure the day I see a well kept <30k mile car with the right upgrades and such for under $35k I am fucked. Don't know how you could say no.- Welcome to the IHoP
and of course how long do you consider occasional?- Welcome to the IHoP
For some reason I hear people whispering that ALL the time. You need to see a doctor if you have voices in your head ALL the time. Lol. How many does it have to be before its voices and not an occasional voice?- Welcome to the IHoP
The one thing that NEVER goes out of style is sounding GOOD. You are a tinkerer and need to tinker though so tinker with that...just don't start with the sub/s. I always find myself working on something that doesn't need to be worked on, or starting something pretty pointless, but at the beginning it was fun and didn't matter. I think that's why I liked fiberglassing, anything I made could be considered "practice" when I ultimately never ended up using it lol. Basically just need small projects to keep me busy and away from the stuff. The Make website has some decent stuff from time to time.. I can feel you agreeing, just depends on how long you wait before the dark side consumes you.- looking for new 6.5 drivers
Then it will work for that in a very limited sense and only for a single voltage output level at a certain voltage input level. Interesting. So you NEVER want to be able actually use your system to the full extent of what you have? Good for you. The real question is at what levels. (do yourself a favor, don't answer the same ) And out of curiosity since you play NO dirty music. At what level can YOU hear distortion? Start thinking for yourself, it truly is a good skill in life to have. Guarantee the answer is related more to the question than you give it credit for. Putting some effort into a question makes the answer that much more worthwhile. - 4th order for a Warden/ Will it work?
