Welcome to the IHoP
That would be awesome around here about 4 days a year. Less than 4 hours a year here I feel sorry for you guys.

Kicker KX3?
It will "work" but if this is your first active setup I would HIGHLY suggest a headunit with x-over capability.

I'd rather have a snowmobile

IA 187, hows the midbass?
I mean when I first install it we are going to tune by ear but set the gains fairly low to be on the safe side, then I'm hoping to find someone in my area with an O-scope. If you can hear stress your ear is more than fine. Otherwise you'll set it to XdB on the Oscope and then have music that is recorded at X-YdB (where X can be 0,-1,-2.... or any value and Y can be rather arbitrary as well) which won't help you dial it in.

IA 187, hows the midbass?
As with ANY sub if you give it more power than recommended make sure you listen CAREFULLY for stress. Nearly everything "can" handle more than specified, but only in the hands of an observant owner.

Welcome to the IHoP
Indeed, I'd rather have the expedition. *excluding of course if I were able to sell either and take the cash

Help On New Speakers!
Everyone who feels that way hasn't heard a properly setup front only system. Obviously absurd processing aside. Personally I'd never recommend a 3 way passive set. Car audio passives already have too many compromises, the last thing you need to do is add another factor that requires even more compromises.

Help On New Speakers!
^^^ oh i need rears they make your speakers sound complete. And what do you mean if interested like to buy or like you have them and running them? No actually they just fuck everything up. Best thing you can ever do in any sound system is yank the rears. I MLV'd right over them in my truck and am happy like hell that I did. Really a HUGE waste of money in particular if you are on a budget.

Question about power, and impedance.
You are doing something wrong. Same box, same location, same note, same excursion, same volume. If you therefore reach max excursion easier, guess what its louder, not quieter. If you changed something else then that is what you are doing wrong...

IA 187, hows the midbass?
Why 80Hz? What about 90Hz, 100Hz? How arbitrary and misled can you be? Seriously. Discussion of response without box included isn't helping anything. At least you've gotten off of using that SDC crap.

KICKER cvx 12" ported VS. 2 sealed 12" L7
Not sure what you read, L7's win for everything in this case.

BEYMA SCK65
And depending on the frequency of crossover most tweeters can't handle 25w. (you could say that the opposite way too)

IA 187, hows the midbass?
Have to agree, what you've "heard" is dubious and inaccurate. Run from that AQ, you don't want it.

Hertz HSK ,ID CTX or SOUNDSTREAM RF-60C
And how do you know that a $150 set from somewhere else wouldn't suit your listening preferences better? Why do you assume that mainstream gear is crap? Typically far from it. You guys highlighted exactly the problem that exists when buying a set of recommendations from people on the internet. Glowing reviews of what you have, but with no detail on what you compared them to and why. Even then, front stages are rather personal in what sounds good to anyone particular person as we all have different tastes. And of course, the coup de grace is ignoring the installation in all of those comments which I have yet to see anyone address in this thread yet (and in hardly ANY front stage threads). Either way in this case the OP is buying a set of speakers on a budget. His budget is such that no matter what he buys there are SERIOUS compromises put into the design of that comp set. All of them have cut serious corners on the crossovers and mostly have even used boutique materials for marketing purposes when in general a more tried and true design would be better. Personally I'd MUCH rather decide with my ears and even end up with a less than "home run" instead of swinging at pitches that aren't even close to the plate. And again, if they sound great to you isn't that the set you want?

If you can't listen to them, I'd cross them off my list. Seriously.
