Bronze bushing available for $6 6381K605 http://www.mcmaster.com/#6381k605/=dj7fiy I could cut it in half. 1/4" gap looks too big to just use tape or butyl. R2, I imagine its a bitch to make a Delrin bushin of 1.75" ID and 2" OD about 2" in length, no?

I don't know when clearance season is though, Matt?
  3. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
Exactly the reason why it is good to shop at when there is a clearance sale. Not like you usually buy a mattress in the ultimate hurry.

And ugh. Just pulled a fresh headunit ground over lunch on the boat as something is buzzing. Still there and probably the damn RCA's. Not loud and not really noticeable at high volumes or when moving, but it pisses me off nonetheless. Also figured out the "cooler" is a compartment under the seat with a plastic liner that isn't even sealed from the hull. WTF??? Might have to glass myself one that seals up since it SUCKS for keeping anything frozen.

You always have the benefit of walking towards the door. If the deal isn't right, leave, there are a shit ton of mattress stores since EVERYBODY has to sleep. Commodity at its finest.

M2 is your man. Never less than 50% off though.
  8. Ding, Ding, Ding!!! Thank you Don! I had some theories, which is why I made this thread, to help pan out my thoughts, theories and the facts. I've always liked what covering the holes did to help the sound. Though on the same line of thought I couldn't help but come to the realization that it would seem that a layer of MLV would or could negate the need for "sealing" up the door in the first place as long as it was properly deadened in the first place. It just kind of made sense and staring down the fact I was going to be doing this very soon (began yesterday as a matter of fact) I was really hoping it would work out that way. It makes for less work and will definitely help with a couple of other concerns I have with a window motor that's possibly looking for replacement. Thanks again guys, I think you're all a bigger help and asset than you realize. Pretty easy to seal the holes with a removable panel....even better if you use something heavy like MLV for sealing the holes. A few rivets and some green tape and its just one more layer to make sure things are right.

Fishing rod holder is here. Had one other thought. Duct tape is pretty non-compressible and it would be rather easy to add 1/8" of thickness with multiple layers. Only bummer is if it doesn't work its a beyotch to remove. Love to get it going this week though so I can buy my grill
  10. Have you tried to raise the LP? That should be your first step. Hell shut it off and listen to your sub only. Play some tones and figure out where its "lacking".

Ethanol is great for making power. Not so good for mileage. True. The idea that it could be any sort of replacement for gasoline in a daily driver scenario is a joke. It is a good alternative to high octane gas though. Equivalent of like 105 octane and costs about the same as pump gas right? It's actually better for the environment as well. I don't know the exact number, but the carbon footprint is about half that of gasoline. E85 is slightly more. As for cost, it depends. IT's usually around 90% that of gasoline and it contains 80% of the energy gasoline does, so you burn more fuel for the same power, but in the end, you probably lose money. So the only real gain is the environmental effect. Not at all how I understand it. You have to include the distillation in your environmental footprint and considering ethanol is a net negative that doesn't bode well for the environment. Add to that what it will do to our soil which is already overused and corn being an aggressive crop it really makes no sense at all. Sugar cane is a different story, but we can't grow that... On top of that building a car to run on a flex standard and that is ridiculous. If you don't gain the benefit of compression then you lose everything that you gain and are now just wasting a shit ton of energy. And then of course looking at how little environmental impacts cars actually have and its just not a logical argument. Hell in LA air has to be "cleaner" coming out of the tailpipe than going into the intake on an average day.

Compression is great for making power. Ah, I see.

Ha, no. Even worse when you consider the stupid ass subsidies

So lazy, perhaps I'll go boating.
  16. Didn't find an Ipod to try today. H/U is from 2009 (or so the manufacturing stamp on the back says ). Possible something was loose the other day as I did reattach everything, but will find out the next time I try. Works on a USB stick just fine and referenced 55 folders nearly instantly. Do you need to have the Ipod off when you connect it? I guess either way I'll try a reboot once connected.

Car was and is a piece of shit. Terrible.
  18. Indeed, if your current box has a problem with 45Hz then there is a serious malfunction with either your settings or that box.
  19. update. Usb stick works. I tried what I believe is the pioneer one that came with it and an apple one for cords. I think in three hours or so I'll be parked next to someone with an ipod so I'll try again
  20. Does it connect pretty fast? <--realizes I have no patience...lol
  21. Plugs in the back...although there is a plug on the front, but considering it was wired I am sure that the last owner used an Ipod since he replaced the stereo in 2009 (or so it seems from the date on the back of it). My music is organized in folders. All by albums. I've never downloaded any music or songs, just ripped my albums. ~4000 folders though so it won't be fitting on a USB stick, lol. Actually its in sub-folders as I have 8 genre master folders, then by artist, the by album.
  22. Cord between the Ipod and the USB connector or a different one? Only ask since I tried two of those.

The skeeter control pickup was in my driveway two days ago so hopefully when these die out they took care of the next hatch.
