Welcome to the IHoP
Replacing the Ranger for that reason. It isn't little man friendly and the time I have to use it alone is non-existent. With the Malibu I'll be able to take them with me and not worry which will allow me to use the boat 3+ times a week when home, if not more. Its going to get a grill of course which will helP

Indeed and IMO dumb to not use that quality when building something. Part of the value of time vs money and maximizing the law of diminishing returns. OEM's do it as each dollar counts per unit, but when you are just building one a few bucks here or there goes a long way.

RedGard as sound deadener?
LOL, real information doesn't work, but an abridged summary does? You want to be cheap which in the first step means don't waste money. Outlining your goals first is necessary for that to happen. As a deadener that stuff will seriously suck ass, but again not so sure that you need a deadener.

Welcome to the IHoP
This is the one I really want, but it is nearly 2x the price of what I've negotiated on the blue one. http://www.dfwboats.com/site_page_309/item_782356.html?listing_page=listing_sum_index_1.html I know the blue one is a little dirty and needs a little TLC, but considering it is going to be moored (read float) at my slip getting one in stellar shape just means more depreciation for me. Those pics are also pre-clean up and detail which always makes a HUGE difference on boats.

Bow is actually small on the Malibu which is fine, I think bows are mostly useless. Kids sit up there on plane and chicks if you are going to put around, but otherwise everyone wants to be in the back. In particular on a lake with 5' waves regularly. There was an X-45 locally which I REALLY want but it won't fit in our slip. As a reference for a "cruiser" here are some pics that show you why I am interested in the Malibu Oh, and of course the "car audio" portion has to be included Rear Bow Boat "Car audio included"

Welcome to the IHoP
I'm curious what boat you're looking into buying. My family owns a MasterCraft dealership and dads been selling boats for years so its an interest of mine. Did you end up going with that Malibu? They're straight inboards right? I haven't paid for it yet. 2004 Malibu 23 LSV. Straight inboard, similar to the X-35 but with less deadrise and a flatter transom so it will ski better perhaps but have less rough water capability. Only two brands I was/am considering. Mastercraft and Malibu. Fucking impossible to find a decently priced used MasterCraft in a modern hull so Malibu it was. I did buy this one potentially as a temporary boat as I bought it at a price I think I can flip it for another $5g's up here which covers the shipping and leaves me a few g's leftover. Sort of a test bed to see if I like this style of boat for our lake. Reason for a wakeboard boat is the slip that I own is limited to a 24' boat and I want as much room as possible, but am not old enough for a pontoon. Figured the seating, stereo, fit and finish and resale are where it is at in those two brands. If your family has an old X-15, X-35 or Maristar 215,235 I am interested. Not so much in the X-30,230 or anything older as my mantra is and always be that buying price doesn't matter, but buying price - selling price does and for that the most recent hull that is depreciated the furthest is best.

zaph Hi-Vi B3S crossover
Did he specify 20ga inductors? I'd guess he is using beefier ones and if so would encourage you to as well. The rest should be fine. I'd shoot for at least 18, if not 16. You can probably tell what he is using by the DC resistance of the inductor as they should match his plans otherwise you need to account for that resistance as well.

Currently arriving at 11:30 on Monday night and leaving Tuesday at 3:25. All the other times didn't allow me to use miles and a $5 ticket versus $550 sounded like a plan. I'll see if I can alter that though as it sucks to arrive that late and the test drive/paperwork will probably eat all Tuesday.

Help me with my setup.. mids/highs/highs amp
Hope you aren't basing that on the little verbage on PE's site and if you do want to use them that way you are going to need some processing to make it happen. I suppose you are going to tell us they can play at reference level (well below loud) down to 60Hz as well. If you want to use a simple external crossover, I'd choose other drivers but without knowing mounting locations and such its hard to recommend anything. try... i'm sure you can do it :/.. lol. and no.. i'm not telling you anything, what would I tell you that you don't already know apparently? now.. that aside.. mount locations for drivers should have little effect on just suggesting a crossover should it? I'm not being rude... i'm just wanting to do my system.. nothing more. You didn't bold enough... As for the crossovers, if you are going to use what you have you'll need eq too and it still won't be all that great. And yes mounting locations definitely influence crossover settings.

you know where I live Indeed, thought about calling. Know much about wakeboard boats? Hell, I really just want to make sure everything works and that the condition description is valid. Mechanic pulled compression and it was fine.

RedGard as sound deadener?
Not effective. Buy some mat if you want deadener, but based on your post and question I am not sure that you follow exactly what deadener is for. Being cheap is fine, but you should outline your goals first as maybe it isn't even deadener you need.

Help me with my setup.. mids/highs/highs amp
IIRC Fmods are just simple 1st order crossovers that won't really do much in particular with what you purchased. To get what you have to "work" you will need to bandpass the mid and hp the tweet. It will still be seriously lacking in midrange and midbass. Those drivers do not match well together at all and really don't make a good "set" which is why you are getting flak in your thread. I read this as I bought two left shoes, but how can I tie them on my feet so I don't have to return them. Just isn't a logical solution. In that analogy consider an Fmod a different shoelace that is horribly expensive, which of course doesn't really fix the concern.

Maybe if it had the following it has internationally. It is gaining popularity, but I still don't see it as a big deal in the US. How many people are going to throw a Super Bowl-like party for the Women's World Cup? It's probably a bigger deal in other countries that they beat us. How many people are going to throw a party for Women's xxxxxxxxx?
