I already posted pics of me on the bike, but not after the updates
  2. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
    The Pantera that is.
  3. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
And it looks like shit IMO
  4. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
Ford can surely partner with Detomasso and build a different super car, but NOT a Pantera.

NO!!!! Don't ruin my desire to own one.

I know you know. Just clarifying as I think what I am building is absurd

Let me restate that, there is no weight savings with Carbon. The light bikes I just linked at Ti. I imagine carbon at the same weight though will ride nicer. Easier to mass produce and cheaper for that reason as well.

And something I can get back out. I'll keep the group and wheels and sell the old bike as was about this time next year...or so I hope.

And if 15lbs is 15.9, in a small size, with appropriate wheels, it is like an 18.5lb'er in my size which is exactly why a sub 20lb 1984 Trek will be pretty funny Of course, I'll have about a G into it by that point which is also uber cheap.

And there are some serious LIGHT bikes here: http://www.light-bikes.com/BikeGallery/BikeSelect.asp?catid=3
  11. Baffle angle doesn't change the design, just the way you calculate volume
  12. And if you tip the subs at a 45 degree angle (or even much less) they will fit easily

Found a custom Ti frame builder in San Diego with pretty much my last name. My "have" to use him just so my bike has my name on it, lol.

Of course $15k isn't absurd for a bike, being that the lbs next to me has a Trek Madone at $12,500 right now...and it isn't completely decked out. Stupid to buy it IMO as anything over $3k should be custom.

I think the lightest my dad ever got his road bike was about 15lbs, but that was all carbon. Had back problems after riding for 15 years though. That was not a 60+cm bike or he was either a serious weight weenie (ie, $15k+ in the bike) or missed out on the scale a bit. 15lbs isn't trivial. Of course, if it were a fixed gear track bike different story. Carbon frames really aren't "that" much lighter than steel or ti these days. Can usually save you 1 lb at most. Depends on the purpose of the build. Easily exceptions to the rule if he shops used considering I just bought an ULTRA light group for $400. At my size and weight that is near impossible. Of course my frame carries a penalty of nearly 2 lbs over a wee sized person and wheels to with stand my brute (lol) also require an extra 300-500 grams of reinforcement. That and I refuse to sit on a completely Ti saddle, some padding and pleather PLEASE!
  16. Sorry, should have used the word baffle and not manifold. Any reason you can't tip it?
  17. Not enough info in your post to answer anything. Goals, music prefs, etc... Curious on your room comment as well, is there a reason you can "tip" the manifold in the BP but that you won't in a normal ported?

To break 20, I'll probably have to spend too much on wheels or put on a seat that my ass can't quite handle but we'll see. May not even try if I don't like riding her after a couple hundred miles.

Now I need some nice bars, a set of wheels and a stem. Really will crack people up when I show up for a group ride on a nearly 30 year old steel TOURING bike in a 65cm that is ~20 lbs.

"accidentally" just bought a SRAM Force gruppo. Crank is too small and will be sold off. Perhaps the brake calipers too.

Nice response, easy integration, pretty much the perfect enclosure other than you lose a bunch of output capability.
  23. I don't have a feeling either way, don't know him well enough to like or dislike him. Thanks for the props, my comments are always based on some reason and I try to explain what it is but sometimes I fail as I obviously did here by misinterpreting your post. Didn't mean to imply it wouldn't work with a sine tone, I took your CD comment to mean throw some music in and run it and it definitely won't work for that. Of course without knowing what level, what song is recorded at, setting your gain based on that clipping isn't particularly (read at all) useful. Add to that the incapability of the human ear to hear major differences in power output from an amp and it is a rather strange desire to reach for the limits of output, instead you should reach for the limit of discernible audible difference and leave it there. For that a DMM is fine *assuming your amp isn't a piece of shit*. Obviously I left out POS amps, but would question whether someone would spend even $50 on a product to check their amp, when they wouldn't even spend that on the amp. Add to that the oscilloscope gives you a lot more information I see no value whatsoever in this product. You may argue that an Oscope is "harder" to use as you cannot see what percentage the clipping is at but algorithm wise I doubt (could be of course) that all the harmonics are counted in the clipping tool either (nor would it be necessary). I will add that if the target market for the device is for people with POS amps I find it funny. Curious what other uses anyone else has thought of for it. As I stated before, I can't think of any but perhaps someone else can.

If there is space, cone area for sure.

Alrighty. He is still on the look. I have no idea what he will end up with. Why are you asking (as to get a better idea and give you an answer with the info I got for now)? CONE AREA is his friend as well as a driver that is ported friendly
