Benefit, I like it and it helped me kick my 12 pack of Mt. Dew a day habit. I now drink no soda. Goes great with food, wonderful with espresso, and is downright refreshing. Disadvantages is that it is expensive if you buy it, but I make my own. Cost me about $0.01 more per 2 liter than tap water.

Clipless pedals with no float hurt my knees to, especially when I am tired.
  3. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
The only time I ever have trouble with my knees is when I try to pump on the bike all wild and crazy. If I keep my knees straight and inline I get the same speed with no pain. Mashing. Terrible for you. Spin, spin, spin. Work your heart first, then muscles.

    My legs are really long

If your knees got sore on a bike its because you were a masher and not a spinner. Running is BRUTAL on the knees in comparison. I was also a mt. biker and swore never to ride one of those gay road bikes, but when you live where I live the story should change. There is a reason Lemond lives and trains out here in teh summer.

And do note that I didn't really "fit" the bike yet. Just adjusted the saddle where I think its comfortable, but being that I haven't ridden since October I am not sure I even know what that means right now. Other than that I just maxed the bar height out. Figure I'd spend some more time fitting once I get a stem in, but before I order it even I want to ride it around like this for a good 50+ miles. I need a second set of pedals as changing them back and forth sucks. I suppose I could put my old Onza's on it and wear my old shoes, but I'd rather have another set of Look Quartz

Further forward = more weight on wrists
  9. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
Too much weight on my wrists and not far enough forward. Cranks are too short as well.

Funny, I think the bike looks pretty normal, albeit with ugly ass tires, but with me on it then it looks too small.

The viral arthritis has me down to an even 200lbs and at 6'7" that will make the doc's call my weight perfect. Lacking about 15lbs of muscle from my normal shape though.

They store the calibration in a digital chip. Not sure on their type as replacing their chip isn't the easiest thing to do as I don't know the protocol. It stores the calibration and uses a two wire digital bus of some sort to communicate iwth the controller.

I realize that, lol. And definitely I don't eat ice cream, but I am trying to remember what I was referring to. There is an arrow next to the name of the poster of the quote. How can one not love this cold and sweet thing... It used to be the cold that I didn't like, now its the sweet

Hand made in Hawaii. Thought it would fit well in the sun room.

Those are spandex lined shorts. My bike to the bar shorts complete with ass pad, just look a "little" better when you are putting back beers.

And it will definitely wear fenders.

If I keep the bike, ie can make it fit, the frame will get cold set to accept 700c rims, then powder coated. I will up the tires from 32's to 37's and get two sets of rims including a set of cyclocross with off road tires. New crank, brifters, and updated components all the way across the board. Basically the goal would be to turn this into what a custom bike that I'll have made eventually will wear for components and then when I finally spring for that I'll either turn this into a fixed gear or back to stock and sell it. Took me all of about 5 hours to run through it. Have some serious cleaning time if I keep it though as the previous owner duct taped all the holes in the frame shut. Good idea if you ride in the rain on a steel frame, but the glue that is 25 years old is nasty. Purchased in November of 1984.

Never ridden on a tri bar before, curious to see how that feels the next time I am bucking wind.

MK, for you. Pics of an ill fitting bike. Hopefully this will "fix" it: If not, now that I've rebuilt the rear wheel, repacked the bearings, cleaned the frame (very quickly), cleaned the chain, adjusted the brakes and derailleurs, I'll throw it up for sale for $400 on CL. Pocket $150 and have a $50 Nitto stem for use later. Bike as sits: $200 + old seat post and a saddle off a different bike. Have $10 worth of bar tape to put on it, but if I like it I'll get different bars so I am going to run nekkid for a while. I forgot to take dirty original pics, but oh well. On the drops and they are too low Simulating where the tops of the bars would be if the tri bar wasn't in the way Riding on the hoods. Without a bar riser this or on the tops are where I know I will spend my time. On the free tri-bars. Bike also came with a luggage rack, a front bar bag, a set of kevlar folding tires, the original receipt and manual...and one really fucked wheel. MK, don't take that as a good fit. Bike is too small, but I can and will fix it. I haven't even ridden it yet and only set it up on the trainer to run through the gears and fit the saddle position. I am not in love with it as I'd like to be further forward but it throws off my balance with the bars so low if I move it forward. I will spend more time refitting once I get the riser stem in and then show you a better fit.

His have a digital bus on the front end so you can't just arbitrarily replace them, which stinks because I need a new one as I trashed one.

Why would I stop you. If you area isn't water proof, before you order I can tell you how to extend the leads
