I very rarely eat at fast food places. But when I do, it's only at a turk's shop. He makes the best kebabs in town I wouldn't actually call that fast food. Not by what defines American junk. If everything is cooked inside some uber factory in the middle of bum fuck nowhere, guess what, it is gonna suck. I realize the meat in this case was processed in some big ass plant and may even include roadkill, but it is cooked locally. Yes I realize then that 5 guys etc are not fast food by my definition and I'd agree with that statement. Not sure how they manage to make it so greasy and nasty though. So many regional bars here have WAY better burgers it isn't funny.

Both primarily flavor though. Olive Garden is perhaps the worst Italian restaurant I've ever been to. I think Johnny Carino's holds that title Good, I won't go there then. Never heard of it, but that I might remember.

What can you even eat there? Besides the salad which is okay.

When in AZ the top places to grab food when out and about for me and the Mrs. are below In and Out Burger Olive Garden Texas Roadhouse. Not anything healthy but oh so fucking good. Well I guess texas has an ability to be semi healthy. Depending on what you order. J Ouch. I feel sorry for you. 3 places I will definitely not eat. Due to lack of nutrition? or taste? J I'm 99% sure Sean doesn't eat at any chain eatery of any kind As little as possible. When in the middle of fucking nowhere I have no choice, but will still avoid them if I can. There are a few exceptions, but usually they have a limited number of selections I can pick from. PF Changs for instance - Sea Bass or Szechuan Beef, Famous Dave's - Brisket & occasionally some naked ribs (of course I went there before they were a chain), J Alexanders, and so on. Do realize I have to eat out about 150-200 nights a year and don't have to pay for it. Makes you sort of picky. Add to that being a somewhat decent cook and it gets worse.

But if those places didn't exist there would have to be new and BETTER places to fill their spots. Subway at least isn't ultra unhealthy, but it really isn't hard to make a sandwich shop without being a chain that isn't way tastier and healthier. The fact that you call it a taste of home even makes me sick. Its a taste of everything that is bad about the US and a taste of shit. Fair analogy. Hog farms smell like shit. If you grew up on one of course that smell feels like home, but that doesn't mean it smells good nor does it mean that you should go out of your way to smell that way. Imagine this to, if none of them existed where you are don't you think some clever capitalist would start up something way better? If not, they aren't clever.
