And no, you can't make it ahead of time. The fats will separate.

I multiplied by 5 as it says 4 servings. You coudl probably multiply by 4 and get away with it. I did also assume you could find PR cheese reasonably because if not that could double. In my case I remove the other products basically and double the cheese so my previous estimate could be closer to $150 doing it that way and it will be grainier without the extra dairy.

My answers will be expensive... I like to substitute cheese for butter and wimp out on the cream, but for 20 that will put you at around $70 in cheese alone. I'd recommend 16-20 ct shrimp and personally would expect 8-10 in the dish or 1/2lb. Chicken 1/3lb should be adequate. It will also depend on what else you serve with it. Perhaps better for me to translate the recipes you are looking at. Whose are they? Links are best of course I looked at a lot of random links. Definitely looked for the cheaper options as I just want something that isn't from a jar. This will be a part of a progressive dinner where appetizers will be served at one house, entree at another then desert at another so this will probably be served with some garlic bread. It will be all girls being fed so the portions can be much smaller. How much pasta should I have? would 3 to 4 pounds work? Even though desert is at my house I am planning out the appetizer and entree as well. For reference the the appetizer will be bacon wrapped dove breast and deer tenderloin (and possibly one other meat because I don't think I have enough) with a sliver of onion and jalapeño or green bell pepper and a dab of cream cheese. The desert with be fruit, marshmallows, etc... dipped into a chocolate fountain I would highly recommend NOT following recipes from Allrecipes or Foodtv without knowing how to read them. This one should be okay and is rather easy. Most cooks will tell you NOT to use heavy pasteurized cream. Normally for stuff like this I actually buy the natural cream from the coop, but that is because in general I buy everything at the coop that doesn't come in a box. Exceptions being meat which I normally try to buy closer to the source. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/tyler-florence/fettuccine-alfredo-recipe/index.html It also won't be cheap $25 in cream $50+ in cheese (1 cup = 8oz) and NO do not skimp and use parmesan. Parmigiano-Reggiano is critical

    YEA!! More conference calls.
  9. personally i think nick is wrong on the soft parts not being fragile in the cold..... for example i just reconed my BL 18's not even a month ago and was slamming on them and it was in the single digits outside and even below 0 sometimes and i cracked one of my spiders.. Nick tries saying it was cause i was playin below tuning and blah blah blah subsonic filter needs to be set higher yada yada yada when i dont EVEN play low shit on my system especially nothing below 30hz thats for damn sure.... of course thou its never the manufactures fault always the consumers... since ive owned the BL's before i reconed them for over 2 years with NO issues... We have been using that spider since before the days of RE, we know the limitations of that spider..and exactly how it breaks and what causes it. Here's the problem. You do not KNOW if you are playing "low shit on my system below 30Hz" You could have reverberations in the recording or a pop/click of the mic that is at 8-10Hz that you can't hear (granted it should be filtered out, but who knows if you even had the filter on)..it can happen so fast that you do not even know that it happened, yet you keep playing the track. The quality of the recording of a track can make things do stupid stuff. Loading in the enclosure can cause issues..if a sub is not 'behind' a port and one is 'behind' a port then you have 1 woofer that loads completely differently than another one. One will move more then the other one will...resulting in your situation with the popped spiders. The BL only has a 1.8" tall coil, and a .9" tall top plate. (xmax of 18mm 1 way linear travel) The spiders do NOT lock up until 30mm in ONE direction...when they lock up they pop like a potato chip radially across the weave of the spider. So you are definitely playing below port tuning frequency, with too shallow of a subsonic filter...OR your tuning is off (which is more likely because resistors have a set value that is defined by mathematics..a port length has far more human error in the equation) Those spiders only pop when they 'lock up' or move past the mechanical limitations. When you move it past 30mm (or so) you begin to form right angles radially in 4-6 spots in the spider (generally 4), at that point it makes a 'crease' in the phenolic resin and when you keep hitting that same spot on that same song it eventually pops and rips all the way through at that stress point. Sorry you feel that we should be held responsible..those spiders simply do not have issues, they have been the same spider we have been using for 12 years, with the same materials and everything. It does not have issues unless you push it past the mechanical limitations.. It is no different then a tab on a coke can. You can bend it back and forth within its limitations all day long, when you start moving it PAST the limitations it then pops and breaks at that stress point. The temperatures here have absolutely nothing to do with it. You are not going to shred a spider in the states..it does not get cold enough. Alaska now, that could potentially be an issue as they get down to 30 and 40 below zero...but I doubt it very seriously...the spiders are made out of poly cotton, the same stuff your t-shirt is made out of... Actually it was -28 the other night... and i wrote you an email asking you if it was myth about subs having a break in period some say yes other say no throttle on them.. i will believe it was from being cold and "NEW" cause like i stated in previous comment i had my BL's for 2 years with NO ISSUES and ive been listening to the same kinda music, basically the same songs "no joke" and they didnt rip until i put a JBL6000a GTI on them.. "2 years later" after they were beat to shit.. and WAYYY over powering them,, but i had the RF40001 on them before that for 2 years not a problem.. but hey you build them i buy em so you obviously know more than i do.. Completely unrelated. You built a box that is wrong or set your filters wrong. Break in is a farce. The sub will indeed loosen up, but there is no time frame required for power handling. If you know so much about materials and what can happen if it is "NEW" perhaps you could explain how the material properties changed? We are open to listening, but don't think for a minute since you are pissed you broke something that you can force the blame onto others by making something up. Bring some science and we are game....although I know that you won't be able to. And yes, I've installed and played new shit at colder temps than that. Growing up in Moorhead/Fargo you get that opportunity regularly.

And boat and sled should NOT be exclusive which is exactly why I live in MN. One nice thing about Fargo was that both seasons seemed to be longer.

Sounds like the liberals here. Who cares what we spend, we'll just raise taxes. Where does fiscal responsibility fit in that?
  14. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
YAY! You buy a new sled and the snow starts to go away. Go buy a couple more! It was going away before I bought it which is why I got such a good deal. Funny considering March is our snowiest month usually. Of course, all my friends now blame me for the snow leaving.
  15. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
HELL FUCKING YES!!! Sean, when it comes down to it, would you rather be on a sled or on the boat? Sled
  16. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
Not really. I'd part it out
  17. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
Bet you're chomping at the bit to get on the new sled! I'm jelly. Just put on 20 miles through the slush...and after I eat I am now going to go and freshen up the lube in all the bearings.

I know what you mean. 3 more days of this warm weather and all the trails will be shit! They are black here in the cities. I was an hour out of town yesterday and still fine. Lakes here have 8" deep puddles all over them. I hope when it freezes on Friday that we get dumped on. Supposed to snow...I have my fingers crossed. We have a 300-400 mile trip planned this weekend.

Poop. Looks like the snow is going to continue to melt this week.
  22. Energy over time is the definition of power. There is one thing left about this statement that has yet to be explored, and it is the most obvious and explanatory fact that we can learn here: there's two kinds of power at hand here. Electrical, in mathematical terms P=iV (current x voltage) and mechanical, W=Force*d/t. Obviously at the flat end of the clipped curve the woofer just burns (no freq), as Nick was stating above. The electrical energy doesn't translate to mechanical energy ( force x distance ), but increases dissipation energy, as you stated above, iV/t, in electrical terms. Now if the voltage is capped, but the average power has increased (square wave integral vs sinal), where does that power come from? Taking V out of the energy dissipation, where V=IR, E=(I^2)R/t. At clip, the t remains constant over each cycle, but the current increases which dramatically effects heat dissipation which in turn raises R which also directly relates to energy dissipation. Point in case, clipping causes more heat. Period. Over long periods, ur effed. Two kinds of electrical power?? No. In AC it is just average power. Sine or square the wave is described appropriately by it.
