Hey just woke up, you won't see them til later today. I'm more interested in how you think they sound. Just plugged them in 10 minutes ago. I like them so far. Only source I have upstairs atm is pandora though and they show its shortcomings rather easily. Sure make the Infinity's that I had in here before sound like complete and utter shit. Amusing since these are cheaper as well. ~$70 for crossovers plus $100 for drivers. Wood is free.

You yourself said making it thicker IS a solution to making a box solid, making the answer to the OP, "a lot". A lot sure that isn't being contended, but bracing is important as well. Thickness isn't an end all be all solution. Bracing isn't an end all be all solution. Never said it was, but it is important.

For audio purposes a beetle is a MUCH better SQ car than get loud car. That dash goes on for miles. Get a pink one.

They are eD drivers, Ben probably uses a saltwater wash when finished since some idiot said that would make them sound better. Depending on how the crossover was wired that could be not so good. Do both speakers sound the same when used? It may be just for one leg of the attenuation circuit and in that case not needed if you use the other leg, but it is pretty hard to tell what it is without seeing the traces. And even then it isn't always obvious to figure out things when they cut so many corners in the process. One thing is for sure, those are some craptastic crossovers to begin with.
