Help with new system (mainly mids and highs)
Nothing that you have will play nice together. Something of what you have you will need to sell, realistically all of it would be best. It will depend on your goals, but considering you found those Selenium's I am sure you are reading for advice in the wrong places...

enclosure thickness
Because then you deal with the complications of internal bracing? Yes, there are adverse affects. I NEVER use internal bracing. Why? I'm sure bracing in an acoustic suspension enclosure, a 4th order, or a 4th order bandpass wouldn't hurt. Wherever there is air flow, it causes problems. Perfect example (and not the only case), in my S10 I did no internal bracing and made the box 5.25" thick except for the baffle which was 6" thick. If you put ANYTHING in that box, score dropped. I left a drill in the box once and lost over 1 dB. In other smaller box applications, I've heard turbulence from bracing as well. Depending how your brace is, I could see it causing a problem with phase or standing waves. The only bracing I'd deem usable is thick threaded rod. Don't assume everyone is concerned about a "score". Acoustic reproduction might just hit the list as important...

I have this one. Think I paid $13 http://www.google.com/products/catalog?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&channel=s&hl=en&biw=1315&bih=747&q=krups+blade+grinder&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=5304746225896792363&ei=yOE8TZK8NcWqlAeoxcyfBw&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=5&ved=0CEwQ8wIwBA# Yeah that looks to be a more competent design than mine without detachable vessel though how hard is cleanup? Cleanup isn't stellar, but I bought it something like 15 years ago for coffee so that wasn't an initial concern. I just wipe it out with a paper towel and then let it air out. Figure whatever is left is so diluted that it won't color what I use it for anyway.

I am pretty sure mine will grind a single clove, have to shake it to keep it from sticking to the sides though. I normally do more than that though. If you need "more" in yours add salt (if you will in your recipe) or other spices you need to grind.

Need a new car ASAP, help me choose!
Drove the new Jeep, it is nice. I liked it better than the non-AMG ML's as the suspension on even the 550 isn't so fun IMO. Not so sure if you go the ML route that removing the headunit is so easy. I haven't looked as my ML63's HK system really sounds pretty good. Keep thinking about it, but instead am focusing on home audio at this point.

Cheap burr mill > cheap whirl blade? based on the two models I've had, they don't do much beyond basic cracking of spices; I want the ability to grind them into a powder form that I can dispense with a shaker cup to my understanding electric burr mill grinders operate in a similar fashion to a pepper grinder with a motor, which is perfect for my needs You can get finer with the blade than a burr, the burr is just more consistent. Try shaking it as you use it

Cheap burr mill > cheap whirl blade for spices? Not so sure on that. I have absolutely no problems with the blade type and use it regularly (including yesterday and today ;P )

What exactly are you gaining by doubling up on a little 8"er? You might as well just brace a single layer to get the box resonance out of the sub's passband. Frequency is not the only portion of the resonance you should address, in fact I'd be more concerned about damping and altering the Q than where it is. Personally I wouldn't ignore either.

Extremely Disappointed
You do realize that this: Doesn't lead up to this: "Saying "clipping doesn't kill speakers" is a half-truth at best. Technically no, clipping itself does not hurt the speaker. But in clipping your amp, you can easily create a situation that WILL kill the speaker. Was the squared waveform the DIRECT cause of the failure? No. In the end, the answer is, always has been, and can only be... heat kills speakers. BUT, clipping increases heat generation, sometimes by a drastic amount." He never said clipping killed anything and it won't, unless because of the clipping you are putting too much average power into the driver.
