Upspiral is what I use just for that reason. Down is fine for cutting all the way through, but for flush mounting you need up.

If it would only have tweeter highpass that can go lower than 1.25kHz Hmmm...can it be disabled ? the Eclipse can highpass from 30 to 300hz so it would work perfect... IIRC it has an all pass, as well, but perhaps that requires you all pass all channels. That is why it is only one of the best, if it was more capable of running a full ranger and midbass then for a 2 way it would be the choice IMO.

1/4" is plenty for cutting circles. Ever since my straight cut bit broke, I switched to a shortened and slightly modified drill bit. It works similar to an up-spiral bit just that the cut edges aren't perfect A spiral bit is the only one I use now. And if you can't spring for a router, circle jig, & upspiral bit then a quality jig saw and a thin blade is the next best thing IMO. I wouldn't like to cut port holes with it, but driver holes it would be fine. Of course being I also flush mount that means I can't really use a jig saw, but you get the idea.

I did not know you had to do anything other than put the cap back on. Seems like it can be stored for some years just tightly closed and in some cold, dark place. Before use, it should be placed in the fridge. I should lurk more next time. NEVER put booze in the fridge or freezer. Always chill it with ice in your glass or shaken if you want it straight up. The ONLY exception is when you have some liquor that is meant to be shot straight and cold. Even then I'd shake it, but some are lazy. There is a saying among bar tenders, its the clink that makes the drink. The clink comes from ice and having the booze chilled is detrimental to the effect. The goal is to use less mixer. And yes there is a huge flavor advantage to making drinks in a Rocks glass instead of a super sipper gallon jug.

You picked the stockers with a gunmetal stripe. Basically exactly what is on the truck. There are big aluminum running boards so a similar finish IMO is a must. All the accents are lightly brushed as well. So no strong polish will fit. In general I agree though, but do like a little texture in my polish. WOW I like #3 also! Amusingly I like the two options that were stock. 2007-2009 is #3 and I like the 2010's.

I was mentioning 50hz, because that is what some people have been telling me I guess. I'm realistically looking at having the sub crossed at 70 (XCON 12). I like a little more impact from the sub. Problem is, I don't know if the XCON is capable of running up to 70 hz. I had an ED 13AV2 and was told it would exceed 70, but based on an RTA, 63 is where it rolled off fast. I really want a system that is going to give me some hard hitting kick drums, even the tighter metal kicks. Reason I ask is that you might have a vehicle-induced roll off around 63hz that is independent of the driver. You would have to RTA it both in and out of the vehicle to determine what affects your vehicle is contributing to the sound. Yes, the RTA was in the vehicle and we tried the sub in my buddies Escalade and same outcome. We didn't test it outside, but we assumed it would show the same result. We had a DD 9512 to test in my vehicle and it did really well, but needed some eq'n in the low end. Hitting a wall like that means one of two things. An electrical filter or a mechanical filter. Sure you didn't have a LP on? If not, there was some hell of a mechanical one. Did you try multiple enclosures? There is a way around it... I surely wouldn't use the AA's with the crossovers you have, but if you were to swap out those mids and run active fine. At that point though I'd change the tweeters as well.

300w to 500w isn't so audible so just don't bother. Go ahead and use the amp, but set it so your drivers aren't stressed.
