Painted the drawer I built yesterday and the cabinet door & spice rack that I cut down yesterday this morning. Tonight I should be able to finish the install and post some "finished" pictures. I use quotes as I didn't put filler in a couple holes that I will touch up later, but it is generically speaking done.
  2. Most headunits do not at all have the flexibility you describe to adjust particular portions of the response of the sub. Usually they work on fixed frequencies as a graphic equalizer or a few parametric bands which are adjustable. If you are truly only worried about your sub then I would look for a unit that has a parametric with an adjustable frequency AND Q. Older Eclipse units fit that bill, but not much else. However, that being said "isn't as loud" as you would like on your sub is NOT an eq problem. You should address that differently. Amp, box, drivers... NEVER use a bass knob, terrible idea.
  3. Depends on your definition of SQ. I have a Silverado, have since yanked my system as the truck is almost for sale. The midbass will be much better in the doors. If your definition of SQ requires a big fat stage, then you are going to want to get the other drivers up a lot higher, but the Silvy dash is horseshit for doing that. Everything in car audio is a compromise, you just get to pick which ones are the ones that will get you closer to your goal. As a major help, please don't say you want SQ but instead describe what this means to you in much more detail. Without that information you will just get a bunch of boner responses that won't actually help you fulfill your needs. Have you bought your speakers yet? I sure hope not as installation is everything and until you have that nailed down you shouldn't at all be thinking about which drivers to use.
  4. You are going to be midbass/midrange challenged much more so than bass or treble. That will determine what you use for an amp and how it is set, nothing else.

  14. And your car is different, your install skills are different, your knowledge is different, and your tuning capability is different. ALL of those items make MUCH more of a difference than which drivers you use.

Me? The trip was great spent the weekend in Niagara Falls Canada. A lot has changed since I was there last. They had a Christmas light lighting concert Saturday and that was very nice. Actually was referring to Peng's Acid adventure, but would have asked had I known you went on a trip. That's someplace I've never been and would like to go.

    How was your trip?
  19. If you don't know what your music is recorded at I can't tell you. Just be arbitrary up or down. On the same note, considering you CAN'T hear the difference between 750w and 1000w AT ALL why even bother? You've stated nothing about competing and such it will just be a waste of money.
  20. An Oscope doesn't tell the whole story though. Still too many variables. What does the loudest cd you have peak at relative to 0dB? If you don't know how do you choose what level to set the gains at in the first place?
  21. i want to make my music sound crisp and clean. Then an eq will just screw you up seriously bad. If you don't know what you need to do an EQ is NEVER the solution. In general the should be for removing anomalies, so if you know what ails your system lets start by trying to fix it without relying on processing.

Grundle Really was wondering how that was related to the chunnel. It is a pathway between a place that can drive you nuts and a place full arseholes. lol
