Wow, the competing near you must be like taking candy from a baby Trial and error is only for fine tuning IMO, physics will dictate the rest. I would never arbitrarily build a box with an ultra long port and trim it. Problem is "guessing" and "guessing" equals NO CLUE on how long the port should be. -packing peanuts -rice -sand -water are all fine mediums for measure. Just make sure your glass is dry so stuff doesn't stick to it like hell. Obviously if you have no exposed wood, the water method is the easiest.

It looks like the HD ECHO makes one with similar stats why go with shindaiwa, and where did you buy it? I'm not sure I'm in the market but that may change when all the leaves fall. I verry badly need to get a riding mower and a snow blower. Echo just bought Shindaiwa, but their stuff in general isn't as bulletproof. Also, don't look at specs as they cheat like hell. WAY worse than amplifier manufacturers. The Shin was WAY, WAY more comfortable on my back than the Echo. That alone was enough, then you add the reliability and whammo.

Depends on the slope, I wouldn't be surprised if it is using a 1st order network. Either way, why go active with a set of drivers that you have a crossover for already?

You don't have a leafblower? Had some off brand backpack, still have an Echo backpack, but now I have a LEAFBLOWER. There are bigger backpacks, but they are all 4 stroke. I am just not interested in the upkeep, nor failures they've been having. Simple carb and piston for me. Shindaiwa 802. The thing rocks.

I have been asked to smoke a whole pig for a house warming.... I'm a little intimidated actually. They aparently have the big rig tow smoker and a ghuy to give them a deal on a pig, but the guy who rents the smoker and butchers the pig will charge a few hundred to smoke, pull and chop it. So they asked me. I would really really want to run a trial run first, but it's not an option. It can't be too hard, but I've never done it. My cast pans make a great indoor sear for steaks. I can't even imagine those copper beasts. Sear is not more capable, but if you want to stop searing it just takes you to turn the dial down. With Cast if you are searing you are searing. Can't do both, with copper you can do it in either order.

I'm sorry and you're welcome. I noticed a contradiction. I said it makes the best pizza, and that I can't wait to try pizza. What I meant is it turns pre made pizza into magic, and I can't wait to try with my own crust. The wife keeps wanting me to buy the XL now. I did 3 spare rib racks on the large and it was a real PITA to stack them last night. They became a bit too tender though. People called and showed up an hour and a half late so they spent extra time braising after the smoke. The flavor was absolutely one of the best though. I made a sauce with some HOT BBQ premade plum wine and ginger and some apple cider vinegar. It was OHM NOM! Going to do some ribs for the Vikes game tonight myself

The systems I laugh the most at are the ones with expensive gear that don't sound very good. Lots of installs with a ton of JL can get out done by the Pyramid/Autobahn that you were laughing at. A good install ALWAYS trumps good equipment in a shitty install.
