Why on EARTH is it not great for TV's. Have you ever seen one in action? yup. Lots. Demoed at least 15 different times. Plasma is still much better for almost everything. I know Sean will disagree, but I find the only reason to not get plasma is lighting. I also got a really great price on my LCDs so that was a big deal to me. I also specifically went out wanting a good picture but with really low glare and high brightness if I wanted it. If there was a plasma that was out at that specific time that had similar glare properties that was 52" and in the 1200 dollar range... I might have made a different choice. Lighting is the only valid reason, but it is overblown. My living room is all windows and it works really well. There are times in the day that require some blinds to block direct light, but that is the case with the LCD's in the house as well.

For me, since I have a PS3 and direct tv it's always nice having more than you need, i would hate to have to switch HDMI's, Switching receiver can solve that issue as well. LED is actually good they're extremely light, power efficient, and THIN! My Tv is about 3-4x thicker than a comparable LED tv. Light, power efficient, and thin have NOTHING to do with picture btw. Plasma ftmfw. Ehhhh, Plasma = burn in (yes it is still possible) energy hogs, and still thinner you can hang it like a picture frame Energy hogs, funny. I bet you are worried about that extra couple bucks a year. Thinner may be true, but no TV should be against a wall as it is murder to your speakers to put them there.
  3. And you could have just turned down the gain and ended up with the same result.
  4. I am sure of one thing, you aren't ready for active yet...

Regrettably the certification is crap. Super easy test, sucks that the only certification available is only used to screen workers and not actually focused on skills you'd need.

Contrast still less than plasma as is the speed.

  8. Drives nice too. A little more power would make it really sweet.

Thanks for the link, I should add that I'd prefer a laser for two reasons. 1) Sheets per cartridge (ie dollar), 2) quality If my logic is wrong though I am open.

Any recommendations on printers that scan also. I no longer need a fax, but wouldn't cry if it had a memory card reader. Ethernet connectivity a huge plus.

Crap, just realized my printer does not have a Win 7 driver.

Booting on my Lenovo is faster than resuming on my Dell. Boot from dead off is less than 15 seconds. Resuming the dell took a few minutes and booting at least a cup of coffee.

The Eizo is gorgeous. We deliver them with our systems and had one with a really destroyed box Something like a $1500 monitor for picture editing, super soothing on the eyes.

Haven't tried it yet. Are you on the lappy and the hans g? Lappy and an Eizo 24" with a vertical Viewsonic 21"

The best part of Win 7 is being able to use one monitor in portrait and the other in landscape without any kludgy software. It really makes reading on the net much better

1080p for a 32 isn't necessary either unless of course you are going to use it as a monitor, then its barely adequate

That is a retarded amount of money for a 32". The picture on my panny is better, it is 3 years old, and was the same price then for a 46" Well I'd imagine its because of using the LED technology, its on a 48 hour sale for ~650. Still a HUGE ripoff. No way no how does that make sense.

Generally speaking, most 1080p tv's are always going to be good. I have a rebranded LG tv, not entirely sure of the model but it was rebranded as Insignia from Best Buy, Looks great, reliability so far is great. Make sure your 1080p tv has lots of outputs/inputs that was the main decider on me getting my Insignia, a same priced Samsung (which i would of gotten had i had the money) had less outputs/inputs and also was like 5 inches smaller also it was 1080p (You know size matters with Tv's) I only need one HDMI input and one other local for plugging in shit like camera's.

Was it harsh/bitter? I find chips need liquid, chunks not always. Depends on where they land in the fire though.

What did you use for wood and how much? a 50/50 mix of apple and hickory. I used maybe a half a pound would be my guess. I didn't soak them in hooch this time like I usually do... so that was a change. The smoke was super dense instantly, and I noticed that there was a good portion of unburnt wood in the smoker by the time the brisket came off. Chips, chunks, flakes?

Yep, although IT effed up so I have to reflash to stock. Part of me greatly prefers this though as it means that I can at ANYTIME.
