  1. Ouch, really? I think you should ponder doing something different with the install if you need to exaggerate everything that much...
  2. You need clearance for the woofers as well which it doesn't sound like you've accounted for. The sub is 0.18cuft, port area at 2 cubes should be 24-32sq, even with the minimum diameter you will be looking at occupying nearly another .5cuft, then when you clearance the top so that the sub can breath I don't see it as being optimal. Can you shoe horn it in there? Perhaps, but I'd really, really double check the size of the enclosure first. And yes, that capacitor will provide you no benefit.
  3. Great idea, should work well. Before shopping for a sub, knowing the internal volume of the box would be a must.
  4. Definitely not a good idea to put two L7's into a smalled sealed box if your goal is output

    huh?
  6. Just sell it, it won't help your install anyways.
  7. Going to be sort of small, can't you make it bigger? Oh, and don't use the capacitor it won't help anything.
  8. If you set the gains with them flat then when you turn them up you will be beyond the power output capability of your amplifier. In general ALL knobs/eq's and other switches should ONLY be used for cuts, not boost. Of course there are times when this doesn't hold true, but in general. JL says to set them flat as unless you have install issues they probably should be flat. It will also give you a true setting, but there are other things to be concerned with. What test tone did you use (0dB,-3dB...), what output level is your h/u set at, is there any clipping on the h/u output? And can your amplifier actually do its rated power? If you don't REALLY know the answer to those questions it is better if you do not use a DMM to set your gains.
  9. I wouldn't. Unless you paid serious coin for that power supply expect a failure. The power supply should have been MORE expensive than the amp. With your luck and ingenuity you are going to end up with a dead amp and a dead sub. Please don't.
  10. Unless my memory is off, which I don't think it is you were pushing them on chop. If you want my knowledge ask a good question, show that you tried, and stop being a baby about it. Amusing that you would bring up a definition of a fool considering I will always tell everyone I learn new stuff everyday, definitely never claimed that I already know everything. Not even close. You've been on here long enough to know what makes a good thread and what doesn't, you've also read the T&C's well enough to know that this surely didn't match the requirements. If you are lazy in your thread, you'll get lazy answers. If you put in energy, then the response might be what you are looking for. If your inadequacy in posting makes you disdain me perhaps a quick look in a mirror will enlighten you. If not, oh well, I guess we can't help then anyways.

Yuck. I am not jealous. Personally hate doing drywall, in particular in a section of house where you live.
  15. This is what I did. That solid piece will make the door very heavy. And I did mean to say round over the edges. Not only heavy, but acoustically terrible in comparison.

Huh? Could have been? My cousin-in-law has a Z1. Sat in it, funny car. Confusing it made the 'could have been' list. Never imported here, but that means nothing. What you expect me to read one of your links? Pictures only Interesting car though, basically an E36 with a different body throughout. At least that is my understanding.

Crap, this is cheap. I wish it were black. 2006 BMW 5 Series M5
  18. I'd question your reasoning and give us more detail on your goals. Flat response is attainable in ANY alignment and so is a strong low end. Can't really answer anything specifically without knowing more about what you wish to accomplish. Perhaps some specifics...
  19. WTF?? No way. Wrong birch....or your mdf is completely jacked. You didn't get void free nor enough layers, return it. It'll be BAD for enclosures.
  20. Depends on what you would subjectively define as negative effects. I have to ask, you design T-lines but don't understand port velocity??

Figured I really wanna swap them out for legatia l3's since that's the only 3" i know that can take a beating. Take a beating has to do with your settings, not the driver in this case.
  24. Thanks, I use my phone a lot, but not enough to get one of those free. It should land here soon though. Thank you.
